I have known Kathryn for 14 years and only got to work with her in 2022. I have been saving wedding rings from my marriage to my late husband in hopes of having them recreated into a custom piece. Kathryn had her gallery near my apartment in Lancaster city in 2009 and I got to know and trust her. I loved her work. On what would have been my 15th wedding anniversary I knew I wanted to invest in a custom piece and I knew Kathryn had to be the one to do it. She looked at the rings and thoughtfully advised me on how best to use them. She listened to my ideas of how I wanted them incorporated into a custom ring. Throughout the process Kathryn kept in touch with the ideas and sketches. Today I walked out of her shop in happy tears. I had some family rings that had seen better days and I hoped to combine their stones into one piece of jewelry. I made an appointment with Kathryn at Veleska to see what ideas she might have. I really loved the unusual design of the one ring but its setting had collapsed. Kathryn was able to combine the other ring’s stone with the stones from that ring and designed a more updated looking setting while keeping the general design I loved. Small stones were added to enhance the design. She was able to show me a general mock up of the ring before I left the appointment. Less than a week later she sent me a plot of the casting for approval and less than two months later I picked up the beautiful custom ring! I loved it even more than I thought I would.
