My girlfriend and I, a queer couple, decided to eat lunch here on a Sunday. It was a bit busy, but there were 4 seats open at the bench seats and a full table open by the window, so I put my jacket at the window table before we took our order. There was a family of four in front of us, with a mother, a father, and two little kids. The mother was very loudly and rudely complaining about there being a jacket at “their table”. The worker asked us if that was our jacket and I said it was mine. She told me I had to move my jacket and that we couldn’t sit since there was a wait. She was very rude about it, and the mother of the family was glaring at us from behind her. It made us feel like a spectacle.
I did as she asked and moved my jacket, and then she took my name and information to add us to a waitlist. Then, she asked us to leave so that the place was “less crowded”, even though a mother and daughter duo were allowed to wait for their table inside the business. Nevertheless, we walked outside and waited in the cold.
When we were alerted that our table was ready, we went to the counter to claim our table. There was a party in front of us who was trying to get on the waitlist. The same worker from before was helping them. I couldn’t hear exactly what she was saying, but she pointed at my girlfriend and I and said, “Those two definitely are.” I presume that she meant who was ahead of them on the waitlist, but the singling out was unnecessary and made us uncomfortable. When I was telling her that we were there to claim our table, she interrupted me and said, “The name was Rowan, right?” Of course, I said yes, and she told me that we were at the table way in the back, sort of whispering it like we should be hidden away or ashamed.
It took about 35 minutes or so to get our overpriced crêpes, even though we only ordered two of them (for over $30) and most of the other tables already had their food. When we did finally get served, the crêpes were good but not worth...
Read moreSo, we visited November 8th, 2022. Not a great experience here and that's being generous. The cashier was nice but the young ladies doing the cooking were not so helpful. My sister ordered the Epinard's vegetarian which was bland (no seasoning at all), the vegetables were raw and the crepe itself was barely warm. Unpalatable and she didn't finish it. My daughter ordered the Tuscan, specifically for the caremelized onions and again, bland and unappealing. The onions looked more like they were steamed and had no flavor at all. The menu advertises that all crepes come with either fresh fruit or a salad. We were so surprised at the poor quality of the crepes that it wasn't until we left that we realised we didn't get the sides and the cashier didn't even ask which one we wanted anyway. I ordered the Paris waffle which tasted nice but I was told that they were out of whipped cream. I understand that things run out so asked for a scoop of vanilla ice cream instead. I was told I could only have ice cream for a $2.00 upcharge even though they didn't give me any cream! Not happy but I started my waffle anyway. Half way through, the young lady came to our table with a dish of whipped cream and told me "we recharged the whipped cream dipenser" So it wasn't that they didn't have any, they just didn't want to make more!! Not impressed, won't be going there again and I will be making sure my friends and family know just...
Read moreI’ve visited this place a handful of times now and have waited an hour for my food every time. It was not busy at all today and yet it took an HOUR. One worker was on their phone, another in the back, and one other making all the crepes. I don’t think they staff enough people or they don’t properly train them to manage high volume situations. However, my main issue was how the staff brought food out to customers who had ordered WELL after myself. When I asked the staff why it was taking so long and why they got their orders first, they LIED to me and told me they had arrived first. Nope, they didn’t. I watched them walk in, order, and sit down well after me. Also, one of the employees who backed the other employee up literally had just arrived and started working…
As for the atmosphere, it’s not amazing but it’s fine. You can tell it’s very cheap. I think they could use better seating arrangements and lower the volume of the speakers as the noise was pouring into my ear.
With the service being poor, the atmosphere being subpar, and the food being pretty decent, I just don’t understand the crepes being $20 each.
I’d also like to add that the owner had a disrespectful response to Sharon Joy’s review. Very disappointed in their approach to receiving meaningful, constructive feedback. Being petty/sassy is not necessary. I think their response shows their lack of care...
