Horrible experience! My husband purchased my engagement ring in 2017. He was a third generation customer as his grandma and mom have been shopping there for many years. Bill made my ring and it was beautiful. We are now in 2025. The ring is almost 8 years old and is soldered with a matching band. There are at least 8 melee diamonds (diamond chips) that have fallen out and been replaced. Some at our cost and some they have covered. I just lost another diamond. My husband and I finally had enough and brought the ring back in to see if there was something that could be done. Betty said she would talk to Bill. I went in two weeks later when the ring was finished. Bill said they went through the entire ring and tightened all the prongs (again) and hopefully this would help. They did this a few years back and clearly I was still losing diamonds. I figured we’d see what happens. I walked out and within minutes of looking at my ring I saw a huge knick. I immediately walked back in and said there was a knick in my ring. After communicating through a young girl who kept going in the back to talk to Bill, he finally just came out. He said the ring would have to be refurbished. I reminded him the ring had just been refurbished by them 3 months ago when I brought it in for another missing diamond. I told him they put a knick in the ring and it wasn’t like this when we brought it in. He handed me the ring and said “you now what, I’m done. I’m done working on this ring.” and walked away. I reminded Bill that he made this ring. He told me my ring was old and stuff happens to old rings. I explained that people have rings for 30+ years and don’t have this many issues. My ring is not old. He suggested I must be doing something to this ring to make it have so many problems. He said he’s done with the ring and walked into the back. I took the ring and walked out in tears. A few days later my husband called and talked with Betty. It went nowhere. Never apologized for the knick they put in the ring. Never apologize for the way Bill presented himself or what he said. Instead she stated that I was in the wrong. Was I frustrated? Of course. But I’ve also had customer service experience for 11 years and know how to talk to people. Betty said they could fix the knick in the ring and suggested we try to sell it online because they aren’t willing to buy it back and would only melt it down and give us the cost of the gold. Everything we bought was purchased outright. I wear the ring maybe 30% of the time. I work from home and never shower or sleep with the ring. Bill made this ring. No other jeweler has ever touched this ring. They say “we pride ourselves on our commitment to customer service satisfaction” and here we are with a ring that is constantly losing diamonds and they won’t do anything about it. This ring has had more issues than I can keep track of. Bill has given up and I guess is satisfied with his shoddy work. I would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone to go to Sundance Jewelers in East Lansing, MI. Take your money elsewhere and don’t waste your time! Bill has a temper and can’t control his words. He has ZERO customer service experience. Betty will always back her son up no matter what he does or how he treats customers. It’s a shame we couldn’t figure out a solution and this is how they ended it. Please take my advice and do not shop here for...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of Sundance Jewelers for decades, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Their jewelry is not only beautiful and timeless, but the quality is truly unmatched.
Just recently, I brought my husband's wedding necklace in for repair—the one I purchased from Sundance 46 years ago. My husband has worn it every single day since without taking it off. That kind of durability speaks volumes about the craftsmanship and lasting quality of their jewelry.
Beyond the jewelry itself, the people at Sundance are what truly set this place apart. They are kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly skilled—especially when it comes to custom work. Whether you’re looking for something new, something meaningful, or need expert repairs, you won’t find better service anywhere.
If you’re looking for a jeweler you can trust for a lifetime,...
Read moreThe daughter that runs the place was very rude. The father is nice as well as the person that fixed my husband's ring. I will never go back because of how the daughter treated us. For Christmas I had a 50.00 repair done on my husband's wedding ring that he wears as a necklace. It was broken in a car accident he was in. I asked if they would also clean my 30 year old tarnished wedding ring that I wear as a necklace as well. She acted like I brought in grabage . She actually said in a very loud voice. I am not touching that. She said that is not silver. I am not putting that in my cleaner. I said it is silver it has been sitting in a box for years. It is the same ring set you fixed for my husband. It was Christmas eve and she said very loud. We are very busy. I looked around the store and there were 2 poeple there. She did not want to...
