Everything was fabulous!! The history of the B&B and the owner and his team is fascinating so be sure to ask!! We opted for one of the rooms on a main floor. It was very colorful with lots of incredible art. Our particular room was divided into 3 spaces. Upon entering there was a small foyer with an open closet to our left. It had a luggage rack and room for hanging clothing and Luxurious bathrobes that were soft and cozy !! A few steps took us to a hall-there was a cove with a commode to the left, soft lighting and a towel rack supplied us with high quality towels and washcloths including dark washcloths embroidered with “make up removal”. Left a few steps and there was a large marble vanity with delightful products to meet all your needs. I was surprised to find a huge shower, w/plenty of seating and showerheads that were actually located in the ceiling as well as a large oval shower head that you could sit under. Going back just beyond the entrance was the actual bedroom. Mind you there were areas carved out of the wall along the way with statuary ….everything was so unique!! I felt like I was in Europe, We had a queen size bed, and most importantly, high-quality sheets and bedding, which is really important to me. There were a couple of windows covered with beautiful drapery for privacy. One of our windows was quite near the courtyard and had a very cool sculpture hanging from a tree. There was a comfy loveseat along with a reasonably sized television. In a whole separate interior section of the bedroom, there was a bathtub. This was no ordinary tub. It was huge like easily fits two people, but could fit more.. it was jetted with multiple jets. I had never seen a tub like . The first night we were startled by what sounded like a huge fan but was actually designed to blow out any water or dampness that was in them to keep them functioning well. I found this out when I got up to investigate what was going on over near the tub, there was a sticker that explained-I had not noticed it earlier, but this happened nightly about 9 PM whether you use the tub or not. I was incredulous. You could expect that every suite was individually decorated, but all have comfort and luxury as key components. I’m thinking I’m going to run out of space but want to comment on the delicious cooked to order breakfast. It was exactly that. Omelettes, oatmeal, eggs cooked anyway you wanted along with fresh fruit and freshly baked muffins that were still warm. The coffee was a little strong for me, but I think most people would find it very satisfactory. We highly recommend this but bed-and-breakfast if you’re ever in the East Lansing area in fact, we would even travel a few hours to get to it. We plan to return soon!!! Pics are...
Read moreI just spent 2 nights at this wonderful place. I walk with a cane and had written ahead to see about rooms without stairs since it’s an older home. They promptly responded and advised 3 rooms that do not have stairs to get into. There are a few step ups and downs that were good to manage. This place is an absolute hidden gem. Breakfast is made to order by Paul and while you wait you munch on fresh fruit and a home made apple/Raisin oat muffin. The fruit and the muffin are delicious! And having Yogi the golden doodle there was a joy. Coffee is nice and strong and several juices are available. The room ( Indian summer) was amazing; the bed oh so comfy and the double shower heads were a delight. It’s all and more a bed and breakfast should be. I did not use the jacuzzi but I’m sure it’s a delight to be in and plenty big enough for 2 people. The decorations and furniture were mostly wood Indian summer themed. I enjoyed it a lot, the creativity flowed for sure. There is a private little patio attached to this room which is a bonus. There is also a fairly big communal patio and inside there is a room to sit, relax, read or converse. The wildgoose inn is a wonderful little get away and quiet for being so close to MSU. Al shared some walking attractions to go see with my limited mobility and brought me tea on a dreary afternoon. It was a delightful stay. I will definitely be back! Thank you Al and Paul for making my little get away...
Read moreWe called Wild Goose late at night while with our dog at MSU. We weren’t sure if she’d be coming home with us that night or not. We were exhausted, having traveled over 9 hours that day. The owner of the hotel picked up despite it being 9 pm. He said no problem, he’d be awake to show us to our room no matter when we came. Dogs were free.
When we arrived several hours later, we had our dog with us. Arriving at Wild goose inn is like arriving to a cozy home covered in flower vines you didn’t know existed in the middle of a college town. The owner took us to our tree-themed room and our dog immediately fell in love. Better yet— we learned the entire courtyard was fenced in, and our room had a door leading out to it! We were thrilled.
The owner then immediately started trying to find us a dinner place that was still open, without us even asking. He even made a couple of phone calls to check.
The next morning we were waiting on bloodwork to know if we could leave East Lansing. The owner said no problem— and let us stay well beyond check-out time. He even allowed our dog to eat with us inside at breakfast when it was raining. We will never forget the kindness shown to us.
TLDR; this was one of the most delightful places we’ve ever stayed. The kindness and beauty of the inn gave us, and our dog, much needed healing. We couldn’t be...
