I ate there for the first time last night. The food was decent, but they are EXTREMELY stingy with portions, and the quality is not the best.
I got the Super Dearborn pita, and it was literally falling apart as soon as I picked it up. The entire pita was ripping apart. I had to eat it with a fork and a knife. The Legacy Bowl that my son got also did not have enough chicken in it. And the size of the side of fries is laughable. I could not believe how few fries we got. I opted to get the sides of fries instead of the “Detroit Lunch Bag” that came with fries because I thought the portion sizes would be larger with the separate orders of fries. I was definitely wrong. The $3.49 I spent for each side of fries turned out to be less than a handful of fries.
I also ordered a “family size” of tabbouli and hummus mix for $17. It doesn’t list the actual size on the menu, but I figured it would be a decent size since it was labeled as “family size.” No. It was a very small container, and on top of that, they forgot to include the pita bread that I ordered to go with it. When I order the same item at another local Mediterranean restaurant, it is literally $10 cheaper, and I get WAY more!
Overall, not a great experience. Our food altogether was about $70, and what we received was not NEARLY enough food to justify that price. The only reason I didn’t give it less than 3 stars is because the flavor of the...
Read moreGeneral comments: The staff were really nice and helpful. The food was good and you can sense the cleanliness of the place when you go in. But putting Hummus and Tabbouli on the menu doesn't make a place mediterranean (there is more to it than that).
Pros: The food was good and tasty. They have all the mediterranean sides/entrees and it looks good (i would want to go back and taste things that I haven't tried at Pita Way) The garlic tastes perfect (main element in a mediterranean chicken sandwiche)
Cons: Highly overpriced - 12$ is too much for a grilled chicken sandwiche What I had was a grilled chicken sandwiche, and it is nowhere near a shawarma (there is a big difference - A lot of spices are missing).
Recommendation: Add the originial/true/OG middle-eastern shawarma on the menu. It only includes chicken, garlic, pickles, and (depending on the...
Read moreFood was good, atmosphere was okay until a homeless person walked in which is fine however having to hear singing and yelling while you’re trying to enjoy family time and then having him come sit right next to you and bother you is definitely uncomfortable. I will say, Alex was wonderful. From the moment we walked in, until we left, he went above and beyond. Told us promos right off the as soon as we walked in, explained everything, was very attentive and even came over and apologized regarding the situation in the store with a side of rice to go. Alex is a great employee and truly makes a difference...
