De Nardo's Pizzeria & Restaurant — Restaurant in East Longmeadow

I grew up in Germany next door to an old school Italian pizzeria, it was hard to find comparable pizza when I moved here, I have been going to De Nardo's for almost 15 years now, they are top 5 best pizzas I've had and that's from coast to coast, I've road tripped a lot and had a lot of pizza! They are the only place around here that will do flour instead of corn meal on the bottom, that is a huge get for me!! I will say I hadn't been there in a while, I was surprised to see new options on the menu, we decided to try the Finney Pizza minus the bacon. IT WAS AMAZING!!! I curiously opened the box in the car to make sure it was ok and it looked SOOOOOO GOOD!! I should have taken a picture but we were too excited to get home and devour it! For a small it really filled the box and great ratio of toppings/crust! 5 Stars for presentation, 5 Stars for Taste, 5 Stars for price/value. I haven't ever dined in so I can't say much about service, staff seems friendly, nothing overwhelming or negative to say, they are effective and that's all I really expect (in a good way) getting take out. To explain why I only gave 4 stars overall, there were some issues the last few times, which is why we took a break for a while. For example, when customizing pizza, the toppings would be wrong, over or undercooked, or just barely any toppings at all. They did come thru on fixing it though!! Other times it was fine, it seemed to be a consistency issue depending on the day of the week you ordered. I'm huge on consistency and when you're craving take out, it's because you had a rough day or just don't feel like cooking, so nothing adds more stress to your life than having to worry if you'll be able to just get your food or if you'll have issues to deal with. I will gladly keep going there again now and if the experience stays as good as it was yesterday, I will gladly up my review to 5 stars. This place deserves ZERO STARS!!! I’ve been ordering here since I started my job, the food was good but always an hr wait! Even for a tiny 8” grinder! Today I ordered waited an hr again for my food but this time I didn’t get not even a call letting me know it was at my place of work. How else would you know that your food is delivered if you don’t get a call? That is just common sense with delivery. My food was sitting on a table for who knows how long cold and soda hot. I called to complain and the owner literally was yelling at me when I asked for a refund. He literally said what do you want me to do, deliver to your house then call you when it’s there and wait? Like HELLLOOOOO isn’t that what your supposed to do?!!!!! If not wait , then I atleast expect a call so I know it’s there. Then he blamed that on Covid 19. Covid has nothing to do with you picking up your phone and letting A PAYING CUSTOMER KNOW YOUR THERE WITH THEIR FOOD!!!!!The food is good but not worth waiting that long and to get cold. I am super disappointed! I will be double checking my account to make sure I get my refund! Horrible...

I waited a little over a week to write this review. On 8/7/25 I ordered a Grilled chicken salad, an order of wings, and a Meatball Grinder. I was told by the girl who took my order it would be 45min, it took over an hour, not a big deal stuff happens. My wife and I open our food and she sees a long black hair in her salad. So I call the restaurant and explain to the girl on the phone that I wish to have the salad refunded. Because it was now inedible. She put me on hold and when she returned she said that the owner/manager would refund the order no problem, she was pleasant. I said it’s no big deal stuff happens. Well it’s been what 10 days and nothing has been refunded. I didn’t want the whole order ($60) just the ($15) salad.Keep your word, it’s all you got in a day and age where you can get Italian take out anywhere. You’d think they would want to take care of customers who live in town and order regularly.
