Bob's Freeze — Restaurant in East Los Angeles

I’ve been here a good dozen times and the same young woman was always working. Love this place & it’s shakes. However new worker is extremely rude, went about my usual order. She asked something about the order which had never been asked so I hesitated a bit and asked her to repeat herself. She then was very rude, said something to like of “yes it’s just two toppings it’s not that difficult” when I responded that I wanted everything on my sundae. She asked again what two toppings , mind you there is no list of toppings only a blurry photo reference so I said whatever it usually comes with. She was clearly upset she had to repeat herself and the proceeded to list the toppings to double check I wanted everything. So I don’t understand why ask what two toppings when the sundae comes with everything like the previous dozen times I’ve ordered. I don’t know, she was just rude and curt. I understand that it can be difficult but a customer asking one question shouldn’t mean immediate irritation. She really needs to work on her...

Born and raised in ELA been coming here since I was a kid and now that I've moved to the IE we still make time to come visit anytime we are in the area... My only complaint is that I believe they have recently changed the chocolate on the dipped cones which is one of my go to choices but this last time we visited the chocolate seemed like plastic and didn't even taste like chocolate 🤷 if you changed the chocolate to maybe save some money please go back, I don't think I'll ever have the dipped cone again if it doesn't go back to the previous chocolate or possibly it was a bad batch 🤷 also please bring back the butterscotch option for dipped cones 🤤otherwise my other option is always a banana split... Either way we will keep coming back for years to come, my kids always make sure to remind me to stop anytime we're in the area...

This ice cream spot is nice, but hasn't been updated in years. Equipment is very old and a bit smelly. Nonetheless, the ice cream is good, not amazing, but good. I always order a simple vanilla ice cream while I wait on my order from the restaurant next store. Ice cream has gone up a lot here, a couple of years ago the vanilla ice cream was about $1.50, now it's almost $3 for a small cone. There's only 1-2 people working here at a time, but it's usually quite empty here. Staff is friendly and pretty quick at serving.
