John's Burgers — Restaurant in East Los Angeles

If I could give ZERO STARS I would. The food is mediocre and expensive. When we opened the food at home the onion rings were extremely burnt they literally looked moldy when we first opened it. We were shocked. Called the place and Sabrina the manager was so RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. Said I always call and complain when the last time I ate there was literally in like March. She’s was like “I know exactly who u are don’t come back here anymore”. Shocked is an understatement. The rest of the food was ok definitely not worth what they charge. She was literally yelling and cursing and saying to never come back. I was polite when I called and she had given me her number and then someone told her something and suddenly she asked if I was the one who asked for extra ketchup (they gave me three btw I ordered 3 burgers onion rings and chili cheese fries so YES I asked for more lmao). It’s insane that she’s the manager. She’s gotta be the daughter of the owner or something bc no way she’s qualified to run anything. STAY AWAY FROM JOHNS. If they make a mistake they’ll lie and say you’re lying. (This is my first review I’ve ever written that’s how bad it was)

Update: I saw your response and no, I’ve literally never called to complain. This is the first time. I didn’t ask for a full refund until after you began to tell me I was lying and that to never come back. U had given me your number and we were both being polite. Ur coworkers must not know who they were talking about as the only times I’ve gone I’ve had nothing bad with the food. I’ve never had a complaint because everything is ok. Telling someone that they constantly call and complain when it’s not true is very frustrating. After they told u who they THOUGHT I was, u went crazy and started yelling and cursing to not ever go again. So NO u didn’t offer a refund (offering a refund and then switching up and saying to not ever go back doesn’t communicate ur willing to give a refund. You have MANY complaints on here about your bad customer service and everyone seems to be talking about SABRINA. And i wouldn’t doubt that someone calls all the time BC YALL LITERALLY DONT DO UR JOB AND THEN DENY UR WRONG DOINGS. The food was okay, it was not terrible but it could've been better. Avocado dip did go really well with my taquitos though! Unfortunately the fries were very disappointing. And my mother's salad was okay.

The cashier was a sweetheart, but I do have to make a comment about a particular person walking around doing..? I don't know what her job was exactly. I get there to order, she has a staring problem. (Probably because I'm LGBT). I go to use the restroom for 5-6 minutes, as im washing my hands I hear a knock. "Youre making a line out here". I walk out, one man waiting to use the restroom? I asked what line, she wouldn't confront me. (As usual). And she decided on a Sunday to be condescending when I wanted to return the bathroom key that didn't need to be used to begin with. Gross, not on my weekend. Unfortunately for them, she seems to be an owner or something? I don't see why else she would be able to work with such a classless attitude. (If you call that a job).

And because of that I will not be returning and I will not recommend it. The food I could deal with but I've seen better customer service from a teenager at McDonald's. It took one person to derail the atmosphere of my visit. I'll take my feminine...

John's is a classic hamburger stand serving all the usual items you would expect. I order a cheeseburger about 10% of my visits. The other 90% of my visits, I order a salad. My dad and I visit for the Chinese chicken salad or whatever kind of salad strikes our fancy on any given day. They are very accommodating and flexible. Sometimes I order with a varied protein like Carne asada in place of chicken or omit one ingredient or add another. I usually get fries as a side, with either the burger or salad. I am hesitant to share my favorite item out of fear that that it will be gone the next time I try to order. Oh well, heck . .. the Piña Agua Fresca is one of my favorite things to get when I visit. I could live off the fries🍟 and Pineapple 🍍 water with ice. The ladies behind the counter are usually pleasant but not overly friendly. Just enough to correctly process an order and exchange payment for the food. I appreciate the accuracy. It is usually not super crowded but we order to go.
