888 Bistro — Restaurant in East Moline

Small probably family owned and run. We ordered the appetizer sampler. Everything was very good! Group of 6 we sat at the large table with a spinning top. That was alot of fun! Everyone ordered something "new" that we hadn't had before. I highly recommend the fried rice!! So good! Everyone enjoyed their meal. Not a plate went away that wasnt clean. Accept mine. Only because I got the lemon chicken. The lemon sauce was on the side and very good. Lighter then sweet and sour sauce. There was just so much food with my order I couldn't possibly finish it all. Although to be fair I cant eat a whole order of sweet anywhere :) As far as the service, they were attentive and checked on us often. Considering everything is made fresh to order I dont think our wait time was bad at all! This is not a fast paced restaurant. Plan to take your time and enjoy the experience. I've eaten takeout from here a couple times, and have been happy so far. I really enjoy that, besides the conventional American Chinese dishes, there's also an Authentic Chinese section (at least on Uber Eats). I typically get an entree from each section, and have enjoyed both each time. Looking forward to trying some of the fish dishes!

I notice a lot of the reviews complain about the spice level. That's one of the things I really enjoyed. It seems like the menu does indicate it (looking at one photo posted on Yelp).... but tolerances for heat vary. So if you don't like some kick to your food, maybe go with non-spicy! And if you love some heat, well, they certainly serve it up!

888 Bistro is one of the best chinese food restaurants ever. This time we ordered the diced dried chili chicken, it was full of so much flavor and the texture was crisp, chewy and tender. Each bite was steamy hot, spicy and satisfying. It goes exceptionally well with white rice, as the rice soaks up a little bit of the chili oil and is just oh so good. The house special mei fun was super yummy, full of different kinds of protiens and veggies, these type of noodles are my favorite, they were delicious and toasty tasting. The hot tea was fantastic, perfectly brewed and plenty of sugar packets. They gave us two complimentary donuts, fresh out of the fryer, rolled in sugar, they were perfect.
