Ridgewood Shopping Center — Local services in East Moline

I was surprised at the wide variety of stores and restaurants (Chinese, Indian, Maidrite, Subway) that are available at Ridgewood shopping center -- it is a thriving location. There is even a small laundromat.

This trip I visited the World Food Market. This is a very large grocery store. They have a little restarant serving Indian food, a large variety of cooking pans (including some large enough to bathe a child), and a very large selection of ethnic groceries from India, Asia, Africa, and others.

The groceries include fresh / frozen / dried vegetables. There is a large selection of frozen ingredients, including various exotic fish, pork hocks and feet, goat chunks, lamb chunks, etc used by the various ethnic groups. Frozen foods also include prepared items from around the world. Canned goods, rice, flour, noodles, spices, desserts, beverages, and much more from around the world are also in abundance. I spent a long time just browsing the aisles, and finally left with a basket full of Chinese and Thai items.

I also have shopped at the oriental grocery stores in downtown East Moline and in Davenport -- also great places, but they don't have the large selection of Indian foods that the World...

Long-standing strip mall on Avenue of the Cities in Illinois is almost always at full lease capacity. From slots, gasoline and store, Quad City favorite Maid-Rite, UPS, Dollar General, Subway, Hallmark, nail salon, tax services, a great authentic Asian restaurant and even a brand new laundromat. Full service dry cleaner has always been in this location also. Several entrances and plenty of parking. Right next to Checkers and has picnic tables at West end of parking lot for a break...

I've been here several times.Took a friend with tonight who hadn't eaten here before. Very clean, service was great and food came as ordered. I had cashew chicken, and my friend had sweet n sour chicken. Dinner menu specials and plenty of food for the price. Waitstaff was pleasant and checked back with us for refills even though we only had water. I recommend 888 Bistro to anyone who hasn't...
