We come to naples for vacation every year and it must just be our bad luck with this specific Sonic. Over the years, 9 of 10 times that we visit this Sonic, there has been a problem with the service or food. Wrong food in the bag, milk shake has half whip cream in the cup, and last night was again, another problem. We pulled up to the drive through at 8:30pm to order food but could not see the board. When we hear the employee over the speaker, we said "hold on please, we cannot see your board".....it was very dark. 20 seconds later while struggling to see the board, the lights popped on on the order board and on the rest of the property. They forgot to turn the lights on. Now that we could see the board, we ordered a #1 cheeseburger meal, but the employee did not ask what drink i wantes, so i asked "did you get the meal?".....no answer, twice. I pulled up to the drive through, and i was charged $5.04 for a cheeseburger and 2 waters. I asked the gentleman who was at the window if he know it was a meal, he said..."no, it's just a burger" ....i said it needed to be a meal. He said he would "re-run" it. After he took off with my debit card for more than a minute, he brought back 2 receipts - one had $5.04 for a burger, and the other had $5.24 for fries and a drink. WHAT? I told him i just wanted a meal, and shouldn't be charged for 3 items that are over $10 when the meal was $7 bucks or so. He said, "it was already rang in, i cannot re-ring it". So instead of holding up the line to fight, or wait another 10 min for something else to go wrong, i paid over $10 for a $7 meal, which should've been a $4 meal considering the quality of the food in the 2 bags. Everyone's experience is different, different employees, shifts, managers, and attitudes all make the experience. But, we have consistently received poor service and food from this location. When I got to the location, I went to the drive-through window and stated I was picking up an app order and the female employee told me to pull up. Just when I went to pull around to the window, a car came out of the wrong direction, made a U-turn and pulled in front of me. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I called the restaurant to see if I can walk up to the window and pick up the order that I had already placed, and fully paid for. The female employee that answered the phone said yes, walk up and I will hand you your order. I walk to the window, and no one was there. After about 4-5 minutes, a male employee came to the window and handed me two medium strawberry milkshakes. I said, I did not order strawberry milkshakes, I ordered a hot fudge sundae with extra hot fudge and Oreos and a sonic blast with Reese's peanut butter cup, and extra peanut butter cup and I showed him my recipe on my phone and I just want what I ordered. The employee again tried to hand me the two milkshakes and told me this is all I have for you, do you want it or not. I said no I don't want something that I did not order. I want what I ordered and what I paid for or I want a refund. The employee told me you can have the 2 strawberry milkshakes and I'll give you $.50 off coupon for your next visit but I can't give you what you ordered and I can't give you a refund, we don't do that and you have to do that through the app and then he SHUT THE DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW IN MY FACE AND...
Read moreSome of the best fast food burgers i had are from other sonic locations but every sonic ive been to suffers greatly with consistency and this location is worse on average than both in ft myers food wise.. I would love the sonic chain.. Especially their burgers... but Its clear to me now that they pre cook their Patties alot of the time and then reheat for speed and ease of employees or costs.. I dont know the numbers of running a restaurant much less a fast one.. All i know is if the food is consistently good and craveable i go back. Price accordingly. When they reheat up their Patties they are 1/5 as appetizing... And then i don't go back for a long while.. Then i remember the good ones and i try again maybe.. I know someone else said their burger was dry(reheated im 99%sure... they certainly come out faster but yuk) and he wont go back to any of them for years and years.. I think that's why Chik fil a locations are almost always busy.. Pretty consistent reasonable quality.. No one expects 5 star compotes from fast food but at least do your product well..lol
Do yourself a favor all Sonic franchises.. Stand out from the others and make it fresh to order every time!! Ill wait in line.. I never once have seen all their stalls filled ever... at any location.
