Retracting my original review. Yes the make over is great and yes the lines move fast with the duo drive threw, but the service of the over night shift is horrible. I go there at 3:35am. There were 4 cars including me. The first car was done ordering when I pulled up, the car in front of me ordered and pulled up, the next car was an Essex County officer who quickly ordered and pulled up. We sat there for 10-15 minutes. No please hold on, give me a minute or anything. I pulled up to see if the other cars had left and the cop car is still at the pick up window. I backed up to the speaker I say hello and I'm told to wait a second they are finishing up giving a customer their order. 5 minutes later the chick is screaming on purpose can she take my order. I scream back my order and she tells me, they don't serve burgers after 4am. I pull up to the window, I'm sorry but I have been in line way before 4 am. She was the cashier and doesn't take the orders. I can see she felt bad and wanted to help, but her hands were tied. Meanwhile the cop car is still at the pick up window flirting with the manager. She looks at us and sees we are stuck because we cant leave until the cop moved and she proceeds to stick her head back in and keep talking to the cop. Seriously??? So when they finally do pull up, I asked was she the manager and I explain we had been waiting for 20 mins if not more to place an order and now you are telling me you don't make burgers after 4, yet it was 4:03am at this point. Had you taken my order, I would have had my burgers. You took all these other orders. oh they ordered breakfast. Really? Well then why are they parked to the side waiting for their food. If you knew breakfast was starting why wasn't the food already set to go. I should have been able to get my order with no problem, then her story changes to they stop serving at 3:45. Really cause again I was here. She was just flirting and didn't give a damn about customers and wasn't...
Read moreThis McDonald's has a very clean, modern interior. The service is excellent and fast. If you're eating inside they give you a number to take to your table and deliver the food to you.
One particular cashier/server I've gotten is polite, smiling and pleasant. There's little socializing between servers who make customers wait while they chat. There's no rudeness or acting bored or seeming disconnected. I have no idea how the management does it, but these employees act as though they like their jobs and their customers, too.
There's no yelling from the back or between employees. It's almost as though they are from another time and were transported to 2017. It's a surprising pleasure to go into this McDonald's.
The first time I ate inside the (around noon on a weekday) it was quiet and I enjoyed it. The second time I went around 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday. Unfortunately, there was a group of 7 kids (late High School age, I think) and they were loud, got up and roamed back and forth, had one semi-shouting match, and in general made much more noise than I care to hear. The management did not intervene and given the location, I would expect this type of thing to happen regularly. I like to read and won't go back on a weekend night again, for sure. However, it's certainly the most pleasant McDonald's I've been to in many years - kudos to whoever owns/manages this location. Every McDonald's employee in an urban area could benefit from being...
Read moreWe all know McDonalds so there isn't a whole lot to say, but here goes... I had not really eaten at McDonalds in a long time, so if you're like me and never cared much for it one way or the other and find your self needing to stop here for food, say on a road trip for instance these items might be of interest: A strawberry milk shake - Has actual strawberry's in it and whipped cream on top. I love chocolate but find their chocolate option a wimpy let down. I don't do vanilla so the strawberry was a pleasant surprise and a welcomed change of pace. The buttermilk chicken sandwich - Offers along with the crispy chicken breast, fresh romaine lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a firm but tender bun with a nice chew to it. The grilled chicken sandwich - Like the crispy chicken option only instead of mayo they opt for a vinegrette that I ask them to leave off... Long story that has nothing to do with McDonalds so go for it or not. Up to you. I've never had it so it could be great. A cookie tote - 13 delicious, good sized, soft baked chocolate chip cookies for 5.99. Enough said! Sausage biscuit - If in the southern state, bc somehow the biscuits seem softer, more buttery and ultimately more palatable there, than in the northern states from my experience. I could be wrong. It might be worth testing out. Apple slices- They're slices of apple. Not much to...
