Royal Fried Chicken and Gyro — Restaurant in East Orange

So on Good Friday, my other half and the kids went to pick up some food. He called asked me if I wanted something on the way home and said he was going to this chicken spot he raves about. I have lived near this spot for a decade and the foodie I am never knew the food to be good. I had chicken before not good some 8 years ago. He stated they are Halal...I don't know them to be Halal. I darn sure dont "see" a multitude of Muslin patrons. He placed and order for 4 people equaling 4 orders. He wanted me to try their chicken dish with some special white sauce. Ok I'm game get me that. Order was placed in store mind you...he arrives home and one of the kids meals are missing a 2pc chicken and fries. I call state the issue and I am offered a delivery of said order. I plan was for his dad to run back to get his meal but I was offered a delivery and was told by the man who answered that it would be here in 10 mins. OK cool, so I thought! I agree and also state that he should throw in some wings for this screw up. It already late and the kids are tired and hungry. One child has food and the other doesn't... so we wait. And wait. We are all eating and feeling bad, I gave him some of mines which wasnt that great. My food arrived in a white container with rice and tasteless grilled chicken I think on one side and salad on another on top of that was a soggy tortilla bread or a pita of some type, 4 overcooked potato logs drenched in this white sauce, he didn't like. I thought it was thrown together and lacked taste. A good 15 to 20 mins have now gone by and still no food. So I call.... he calls the driver. I can tell what happened by what he was saying to the driver, and HE DIDN'T SPECIFY to his driver the priority in this order he sent out. Another ball dropped. This 2pc and fries went on the scenic route around town and driver wasnt smart enough to drop off an order that was a min drive. So he comes back and says it will be an additional 10 mins! Ugh! Kid is hungry picking over what i shared with him. 15 mins later phone rings and a lady is here with the food. I wont even get into her shenanigans as she went to the wrong side and wrong apartment, and was SUPER RUDE when they are the ones who screwed up! Really?? I go find her get the food and return to house to give this hungry kid his food after waiting almost an hour for it. I open the bag which was all soggy and went...cold fries and hard, dry as all get out chicken just like I remember!! He quickly gave my concoction back and went in to his box... he picked over it, half ate the wing and the big hard and SUPER DRY breast...nah! I then tasted my wings as they did send 2 as a "sorry" as well as his breast....NOPE. SUPER DRY AND HARD CHICKEN. Never again and that's from their Dad. I was never a fan and...

First I've noticed other Crown Chickens in the area take cards, and you don't have to use only cash or use their atm. But while I was there, three kind quiet black children was standing in front of me speaking to each other while their food was being prepared, and the worker decided that he needed to yell at them and tell them to separate from each other, why are they so close together! I then had to ask the worker the question "what does it hurt for them to stand together if they came together. Why did he feel that they could not stand together on the other side of the counter" He said it's because he was hot. He is standing behind the counter by chicken preparing their food, and he decided to take it out on the three black children standing there. I then said, "Are you trying to say black people draw heat because none of us were sweating?" Only he was sweating, and as you can tell from this comment, he was not a black person. I have in the past told myself I was not going to go there anymore because of how they are rude to the customers, especially the children. I tried again, and they did not fail to prove to me once again that they do not like those who patron at their store. They continually show that they do not want us to give them our money. I can only suggest that we let them know that they are in our community, and we can take our money elsewhere. If they don't like us, they can move. Treat this community...

The food is good, unfortunately, I won't be eating from there anymore. I'd be wary of ordering anything to be delivered. I was purposely given the wrong chicken, I know it because when I called, I barely told him my issue when he cut me off, saying it wasn't his problem. He said the app I used to place the order told him the wrong thing.🤔 That's BS because my correct order was on the receipt. I believe he intentionally gave me the wrong thing, assuming that since it was a delivery, he'd get away with it. I live nearby and was there in 5 minutes. He argued with me over my order when it was clear from the receipt. I spent over $40 and wanted my food or money back.

However, while waiting for a resolution, another customer and I watched one of the cooks drop a whole pizza on the floor. It was still on that silver plate they put it on to cut. He picked it up and STILL put it out for customers. We BOTH saw it, and he tried denying that that had happened because other customers came in. After that, I didn't want the food and took my money back. The people here are nasty in character and hygiene, so I just know not getting that food was a blessing in...
