Scotchies Jerk Center — Restaurant in East Orange

I’ve always wanted to try that place until today! I was craving to eat some oxtails, and decided to try out Scotchies’ Jerk for the first time. With my excitement, I decided to drive to that business location only to find myself walking out in less than a minute of being there. I walked into the establishment to place an order. The place was empty with no customers. I noticed a lady behind the counter and I quickly greeted her by saying “hi”, the employee did not acknowledged me, rather stared at me rudely for a few seconds, as if we were having a staring contest. After a few seconds of us staring at each other, she walked towards the area that wasn’t shielded by the plexiglass and rudely said “can I help you?!” and I said, “yes. Do you guys have oxtails?” with her rudeness and poor customer service skills, she replied back to me by saying, “oxtails is $25” and turned her back and walked away from me, as if, she doesn’t have the time nor the patient to cater for a customer. At that very same moment, I decided to walk away. If you cannot fully perform an easy task such as good and excellent customer service to NEW paying customers, I don’t care if you have GradeA quality food, you will never earn my business. I swear to God these people want to kill us with salt. I ordered oxtail from this place and when I got home to eat it I was shocked at how extremely salty it was. I called the place and the guy who answered the phone just said sorry and said he doesn't know what I want him to do. No refund, nothing. I believe he took my complaint likely, like I was being dramatic when I wasn't. I literally couldn't eat the food. Even though the oxtail is expensive, I had no choice but to throw it away. There is no way that anyone could eat that oxtail. For him not to take any action was so disappointing to me. Clearly they don't care about their customers. Another thing was, I felt like they just mixed soup and poured it on the oxtail after it was done. I don't know if it had to do with the fact that I ordered 45 minutes before they closed and they were running out of it but I could tell because I am a cook too. I will never order from them again....

The manager is very rude,nasty and vulgar, a bully to children and her staff, I would never recommend, I was there when a customer child was playing with the chair, counting them, and she walk in shouting at that customer son, he seems to be 2, how can you shout at customer child, it’s 30 minutes to closing and no one was in the restaurant, he is a baby, u shouting at a baby, they where eating and had to leave because how nasty you are, you should be ashamed of your self, I heard the mother said she gonna make a complain and she should your nothing but a bully, u can never have kids of your own to be treating people kids like that, I would never recommend this place, shame on you.
