Monte Irvin Orange Park — Attraction in Orange

Pleasant for a leisurely walk. It's not a fancy park with lots of flowers, but it's very green, with a lot of grassy lawn and large trees that provide shade. There's a roomy, concrete path to make a circular walk, and we saw many squirrels and birds on the lawn, as well as several ducks a family of geese - with little, yellow goslings! The pond with the fountain is pretty and there are lots of nice park benches to sit on and enjoy the view. Also, there is a large, dedicated play area for children, and there were many of them; playing, screaming and running around like kids should be able to do. Since this is a contained area, it was pleasant for those who don't have kids and prefer to enjoy the park in peace and quiet. Definitely a nice place to visit. There were no picnic tables (that we saw) but I could see spreading a blanket on the lawn and having a picnic. Just watch out for the goose poop - where there are geese there is...

The section of the park that I was at was clean and it was good to see families out with their kids playing and eating together. I saw ducks in the pond as well as on the walk way. It was clean and the air was refreshing.

Although there was a bathroom (which was clean) on my side, I observed there were portable toilets placed at designated areas around the park. There is a parking area for the park, however, there are amplified parking on the side of the road around the park. There are seats placed throughout the park, however, you have the option to bring your own chair if you choose to sit under a tree.

The playground for the kids was clean and seating was also available for you to choose from. I am not certain if the park is dog friendly, as I did not see any dogs on the section of the park I was at. The breeze was so cool I literally felt like I wanted to fall asleep...

It's a nice park, but it could use some cleaning up. There's litter scattered around, which is a shame because it detracts from the beauty of the park. There are also some areas that could use some maintenance, like the benches. Despite the cleanliness issue, the park has a lot of potential. There are plenty of trees and flowers, which make for a pleasant atmosphere. The playground equipment looks pretty new and seems to be in good condition. There are also some nice walking paths to explore. The pond desperately needs an entire clean up and up keep. Overall, I think the park would be a great place to spend some time if it were a...
