We have been waiting a long time for Josie's to open up, and we were not disappointed! Gorgeous remodeling inside(This restaurant was formerly Chauncey's) - Someone has a keen eye for aesthetics. The fact that this was the first full week of opening, but running quite smoothly is impressive. We were able to chat briefly with the owner and it's clear she's hand-picking staff and giving the entire venture her full attention. The Bartender is a true craftswoman. And I'm very sorry for butchering the spelling Michaela...? We had the Spiced Pear Manhattan - expertly balanced and delicious. One of the top 3 Manhattans I've ever had. The Pear Martini was also blended deliciously, not syrupy sweet. The "Stinger" cocktail was good, I personally felt the creme De Menthe was overpowering everything, too sweet - but that may be the intention of the mixologist. Our server Brendan was fantastic, very friendly and engaging. Made us feel like old friends. We weren't excessively hungry so we had 2 appetizers and a handheld. The artichoke dip was soooo good, very creamy and light, not thick and cloying like you see so often. I almost didn't go for it due to its commonality. The Arancini was very nice. The perfect amount of cheesy goodness. The Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich was solid, I don't partake but it's one of my wife's go-to sandwiches. I was very intrigued with some of the larger entrees and we'll definitely be back to try more things. If you're doing this well after a couple weeks, then Leadership/Team is doing...
Read moreI stopped in for dinner the other night. We ordered the street corn deviled eggs and two sandwiches. The deviled eggs were by far my favorite, and the sandwiches were pretty good too. I also appreciate that they have the good kind of French fries. The ones that have a little crispy like coating to them. The service however was slow. It took about an hour and a half when all was said and done. They were definitely busy which I'm sure contributed to it but it was still a really long time. Especially given a table of three came in a good 20 minutes after us (a table of two) and still left at the same time as us. I would probably go back, but I can't say it really lived up to what I expected given...
Read moreThe food was good, though the menu is limited and lacks any simple dishes that would be common in a LancCo pub/tavern. A little high-end for East Pete pub/tavern IMO. The service was good, though we were there before they would've gotten busy. Everyone was friendly and service was timely. The decor is okay, nothing special.
But for the money I spent, I would've gotten better food by going a few miles north to Cat's. There were three in our party and we spend $90 including tip for three sandwiches and an order of wings (we all had water to drink). Of the entree's listed, I only saw two that I would order (Filet or Crab Cakes) without having to ask for some...
