New Star Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in East Point

This was my family's first time ordering food at this restaurant. We decided to give it a try since it was nearby. We ordered various combination plates. At first glance, we noticed the portion size was much smaller than other restaurant portions. The container the food came in was even smaller. Also, there were way more vegetables (green peppers, onions, broccoli) than actual meat (chicken, beef) in the dish. We were not happy about that because each combination plate was at least $10 each. Because of what you receive from this restaurant, a smaller portion size and less meat, the food is too expensive. The flavor was good. I read a few great reviews, placed a to-go order over the phone for a lunch order of General Tso Chicken around 1:50. I was told 20 minutes. That was fine. I got there and she asked me what I ordered and asked for my money. I paid her and left a 15% tip. 15 minutes later, almost 40 from placing the order I received my food. Asked for soy sauce and hot chili sauce. Received one packet of soy sauce and there was hardly any chili sauce in the container. Didn’t matter because I wouldn’t be needing it. My chicken was so overcooked it was inedible. It was hard, couldn’t even chew threw it. Like the hardest jerky you’ve ever had. The fried rice had no flavor, just a bunch of onion. The egg drop soup was bland and lacked any flavor whatsoever. First and last...

I have eaten at this restaurant in the past (about 4 years ago). I don't know what has transpired with the food during this timeframe, but my food was awful! The eggrolls tasted greasy and as though the grease needed to be changed. Also, my food felt so heavy on my stomach, that it made me use the bathroom repeatedly. The noodles tasted as though there was too much cornstarch or whatever they use in the noodles. And there was hardly any shrimp in the food. Parts of the vegetables were hard to chew and stringy. I was greatly disappointed! And sad to say that...I will not be eating at this...
