Ok, so here is my 1st attempt since our last visit. Which was pretty much a disaster. I was reluctant to go here after that visit, so we tried this past week We sat on the restaurant side, not the pub side. The order was messed up from the beginning. Parents ordered their lunches, and I ordered mine as well at the same time. So, the meals came out without my meal. The server asked the temp on my burger, and I gave that to him at the time of the order. Said mine would be out soon. It was Hamburger Club easy peasy right? NOT! I WAITED 15 MINUTES MORE! Annoyed that my parents were finished withr their lunches my meal finally came out by the manager I assume. He came to drop the food off and proceeded to walk away. I asked, "Wait, what was the problem?"" He replied, "The kitchen messed up the order and walked away. No apologies, nothing. So I ate my sandwich. Decided to get coffee and dessert. The server brought me over a cup of coffee and said to me directly. This is old coffee. You look like you may want fresh coffee. I replied, "How old he said, "In almost an hour," I replied, "Fresh cup, please. I'm am so like, wow, really. So, I'm done with this place for good! I can make this up! I know times are tough.. but common sense and compassion is lost in this industry. Don't hold to staff you think you need. They are hurting you!

So I swung by Gregg's in East Providence to snag their famous Death By Chocolate cake for a birthday party. You know the spot—1940 Pawtucket Ave, easy parking and all that. Walked in, and boom, there's that bakery case loaded with all kinds of sweet temptations. The folks working there had mad vibes—super friendly and quick. They got me my cake in no time. And yo, that Death By Chocolate cake is everything they say and more. Layers on layers of rich chocolate goodness, creamy frosting, and that ganache? Straight fire. Had everyone at the party coming back for more slices. The spot itself has a chill, cozy vibe. Even though I was just there for a pickup, the place and the people left a solid impression. If you need a dessert that's gonna steal the spotlight, Gregg's Death By Chocolate is it. Perfect for any special occasion, and the East Providence crew knows how to take care of business.

Been going there for around 30 years (same location) - Food & service has always been great- never disappointed . 1st picture I had grilled chicken w/mushrooms, onion peppers & swiss cheese sandwich on a bulky roll with french fries & side of coleslaw delicious - my hubby got the classic roast beef aujus that came with a delicious salad 😋 Prices are reasonable . My only gripe is we had to ask for their infamous pickles that used to be served immediately. An old routine that people looked forward to in the past & helped make the name famous. Even ordered my Thanksgiving meal the past 3 or so years - (no need to cook an entire meal for 2 people) - t's delicious - satisfying & affordable.

Poor Poor customer service, and never have I experienced this from Gregg's restaurant. My credit card was ran 6 times and my Daughter's card was ran twice. I called to let them know our food was made wrong. After being on hold for about 10 minutes, I get a supervisor named Brielle who looks up my order and proceeds to tell me the person over the phone took my order correct and it was definitely an error on the kitchens part. I say okay. She said I will credit you for 2 dinners , ( I never asked to be credit for one nevermind 2) , do you have a loyalty card? I said no, okay let me put you on hold.........close to 10 minutes comes back to the phone. I spoke with my manager and because it's a 30 dollar credit we are going to need a picture of your food, , I SAID A PICTURE OF MY FOOD? I am not giving you a picture of my food, ( my husband was already eating it ( he scooped out the wrong food and ate what was left) I was very angry I said I do not want your credit, I do not need your credit and hung up the phone. I then looked at my credit card and it had 6 different charges on it that they claim did not go through. I called back to speak with Brielle and was left on hold for another 10 minutes. She then comes to the phone and I start speaking, she interrupts me and says hello can you hear me and then puts me on hold. A couple minutes later a manager named Ryan picks up the phone I stated I was talking to Brielle and he says she was busy and he could help me. He already knew the whole story except he was under the impression that I asked for the credit. I asked if that was something new that you wanted people to take pictures of their food and send it to you? Never answered my question. The long story is that their customer service sucks! When we went in to pick up our food we wanted to get dessert to go, so I Hand the girl my card and she says 91 dollars please. We said we paid over the phone she states oh yeah those didn't go through. No one called me to let me know. It was a very very big mess I am just so disappointed in Gregg's restaurant #takeapictureofyourfoodandsendittous I DON'T WANT YOUR CREDIT! I WANT BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE! I AM SPENDING MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!! To be clear we ordered a turkey dinner with no squash and double...

1st time since the pandemic I had a normal restaurant experience ! A full menu , not modified & printed on paper. We walked up to the doors with masks on , now here's the really great part foe me anyway, besides their delicious food and desserts ( 1 of which is Death by chocolate cake 🥰 ) We didn't have to wear masks if fully vaccinated which we all were ! They do asked that if your not to wear masks . I'd like to say here please don't hassle the management about this , if your not comfortable with this then either find another restaurant or just don't go here until we're back to "normal ". They are still Covid compliant with social distancing and cleaning observed. All the servers all do wear masks including management. Now back to their food and menu the food is delicious I ordered something new that I hadn't tryed before an eggplant "sandwich" which isn't the right term but I can't for the life of me remember the name of the bun that it was served on but it was good ! Their French onion soup has everything you'd expect in it and the ingredients are plentiful and could be a meal in it self depending on your appetite. There's a HUGE sea salted pretzel served with a cheese sause to dip it in served in a bowl

2 dinners, 1 spite and 1 beer and my husband ordered another beer before the end of his meal. 13 Minutes later he was still waiting for his beer when the waitress realized she never put in for the other Coors lite, she said she would do it right away, we said forget it but would like to order dessert. we told her we what we wanted and that I needed a take home box. 20 minutes later we were still waiting. We noticed that she was talking with the manager, and they were doing something with register. Another waitress who was taking care of the table next to ours asked whether we were done and removed our plates and if we wanted dessert, we explained that we had already ordered and gave her the name of our waitress. This other waitress went over to Nicole told her we were still waiting and that she would handle the desserts. she packaged our deserts to take home and got our waitress for us. NOT once did our waitress nor the manger come to our table to explain what was going on. Apparently, the waitress failed to put our order into the system and therefore was unable to printout a check for us. But nobody bothered to tell why there was such a delay. Instead, they kept their mouths shut and kept trying to generate a check to give us. that is called Poor Customer Service, either the waitress or the Manager should have come to us to tell us what was happening so that we at least were informed. Instead of having us just sit there waiting without knowing. At the end of it all the were able to generate a check and Nicole literally stood over my husband waiting for the money. He asked her to back off. she moved to the side but when he pulled out his wallet and started pulling out cash, she came to the table and asked if he was all done. He just looked at her and continued counting his money she just stayed at the table until he was done and immediately took it and disappeared with it. So bizarre. Also, not everyone is cutout to be in the service industry. Nicole, you are not. And Manager you need to be retrained. Food was good. ...
