We arrived at 6:28pm not realizing how close to closing time we were (7pm) The hostess/server assured us we were welcome and to pick any table. I was expecting a diner form the reviews, so I was not disappointed or thinking this was a fine dining establishment. The restaurant was very clean!!! I informed the server we had a Groupon for a pre fix menu for 2 people (which I paid $19.99) she stated. Ok you have a choice of soup or salad. We chose the minestrone soup, very simple ingredients but fresh. Then she gave us 3 meals to choose from. Either chicken Marsala. Steak ala mama, or haddock. My husband chose chicken Marsala, enjoyed it very much. All the while we did feel uncomfortable because you could tell she and chef were waiting for us to leave, but I may have misconstrued this because I just felt bad they were staying late! I ordered the steak aka mama, it was ok at best. We then had tiramisu to go, which I later found out it was about a quarter of a size of a normal piece. Then the server brings the bill and reveals I owe $13.86. I am at this point so confused so I call her over and she explains that even though the Groupon says it’s for 2 people it’s only for one, I show her the Groupon and explain my confusion since it’s clearly states it’s a pre fix dinner for 2! She did adjust the bill to just the tax I owe and then of course the added tip. It wasn’t awful nor memorable. Not worth explaining your Groupon in the end. I will most likely...
Read moreI placed a breakfast to-go order for me and my colleagues. Was told 10-15 min, then I could go pick it up. I waited the 10 min then drove from my office to pick it up...well...where do I start... I had to wait another 20min before she brought the food out...while I waited, she rang me up, but ended up having to charge my card twice because she told me the wrong total and what was remaining on the bill... When I got the food back to the office...I was severely disappointed! I had ordered Eggs Benedict...it was AWFUL!!! The home fries where undercooked and over seasoned - I didn't eat them...and the Eggs Benedict was the worst thing I've ever seen or taken a bite of...the hollandaise sauce broke and was the consistency of mustard...the eggs were hard boiled, and not the soft poach you would expect. The whole to-go container was filled with oil so the english muffin was soggy...oh, and did I mention everything was salty...like, OMG salty!
Needless to say, I'm still hungry and short $10 in my wallet
It makes you wonder if any of the cooks have ever seen or tasted what Eggs Benedict is supposed to look and taste like!?!
I mean, it wasn't busy in the restaurant...you would think they could have prepared a better dish - and most certainly NOT served what they gave to me - they had plenty of time!
I will never order from this...
Read moreCute 50s style diner. The inside is decorated heavily with period relevant decorations. Down to an old school milk dispenser. Plenty of booths and and small tables along with a open bar and stools.
Like most (if not all breakfast places) on the weekend, there was a 20 minute wait. There isn't really a dedicated waiting area. Opted to sit at the bar for a quicker seat time. Staff was unbelievably polite and kind. Checked in on us often and took care of our needs. The coffee cups they serve are kind of small. I was concerned that I'd run out frequently before getting a refill but I wa sproven wrong on that.
Food was pretty quick to be served and was all delicious. The meals all have some clever name which is cute but makes ordering them a little confusing. The menu is a little large, with some items appearing again with minor changes.
Overall I'd recommend this place. Price was fair. Food was good. Service was amazing. I'd return again and/or recommend...
