El Mariachi — Restaurant in East Providence

We just finished dining at El Mariachi as a party of 6 to celebrate Mother’s Day. The waiter would take nearly 15 minutes to return with whatever it was that we asked for because he forgot to bring in the first place. When my partners food finally arrived, the pork was FULL of fat and the entire dish was cold. The waiter never came back to check if the food was prepared to our liking, so I had to go upstairs with the plate of food in my hands and hunt the waiter down to let him know the dish was cold and inedible. He then comes with the dish about another 15 minutes later and never came back again to ask how it was. Then, after picking up all of our dishes he literally never came back to drop the check off. We all six had to come back upstairs to once again hunt him down to ask to pay for the tab. He doesn’t even apologize or acknowledge that we had to come looking for him. He prints the check out and gratuity was included. I’ve never had such a bad experience at any restaurant like this. He was very careless, and it left all of us feeling very disappointed....

A few of us went there 5 months ago and loved the food and drinks. Recommended again to celebrate birthdays and we were very disappointed. The waitress messed up some of our orders. Some wanted no beans or rice instead extra veggies. Besides they were serving pinto beans instead of refried beans. The sides were lacking and the portion size. $17.95 for steak and shrimp fajitas that came with 3 shrimp and 7 small pieces of flank steak. Also because of covid I think that shouldn't serve all the people tortillas In one container to share for any one that had Fajitas. We were a a large party of 11 spent quite a bit of money and gave a 20 % tip since the majority of us have worked in the food service in the past or own restaurants. So I’d like to start with that fact that I have been to this restaurant 4 times now and each time was great minus today :( . it started when i ordered a beer and was brought a different one the server put it down and was about to walk away , I stopped him and said this is not what i ordered his response was oh they are warm and i just put it in the fridge to get them cold .
