The Burrito Bowl — Restaurant in East Providence

Ordered food on their online website August 26th about 7pm. Quesadillas, tacos, and empanadas. When I tried to order the quesadillas they don't let you add any sauces or even side sauces, and they are nowhere else on the menu (besides queso). But they did appear under the tacos menu, again as SIDE sauces. Places the order and went to go take a shower since I knew the order would be a little bit. Come out of the shower to a ton of missed calls from the restaurant and some text messages from the driver. Then the driver started calling me as well. The driver said they didn't have empanadas and I just let him know. Okay. That's fine just refund me for them. And he said he couldn't do that. I would need to cancel the whole order and start again... What?

So I call the restaurant the guy there picks up the phone and says, Yeah? And I'm surprised cause he didn't say hi this is the burrito bowl or anything. So now I'm thinking I have the wrong number. I say, hi I'm looking for the burrito bowl. And he's like yeah, I tried to call you we don't have any empanadas. (Which I don't know why the online menu isn't updated with current food, but whatever). And I go, okay... No worries can I just get the order then and get it refunded for the empanadas? It's been over an hour now. And he goes. No...I can't refund you my boss will need to do it tomorrow... What?

So he says he will leave a note for his boss for refund me. I never was refunded.

The order comes in, an hour and a half from when I placed it. And the quesadillas are a grease filled and melted pile of disgusting. The "side" sauces were on my wife's tacos so she couldn't even eat them. And again no empanadas. Just moved to the area and this was the worst experience of any of the local places I've tried. No refund, no good dinner, and no manners. It's a solid don't...

I would give zero stars if I could.

I gave this place the benefit of the doubt the whole way, but in the end the nicest thing I can say is that at least I didn't get sick.

The glass at the food counter was dirty. The service was INCREDIBLY slow, and they let another customer cut between me and the rest of my party. The employee making my burrito never asked me what I wanted or offered me any help in choosing items for my burrito. The grilled chicken was clearly not made that day and tasted slightly more of lighter fluid than of chicken. I suppose I should be happy about that, since the rest of the food had no flavor at all, and was cold. My burrito was poorly wrapped. I asked for a draft beer, and got a half-full paper cup of stale beer... with a chuck of some sort of mold floating in it. According to the employee, they "don't use the taps much." A gentleman who I believe was the owner did ask me how everything was as he was walking by... I wasn't in the mood to engage at the time. I gave him a half-hearted "Meh... it's okay..." and he didn't even stop to ask what was wrong or how it could be better. We were the only party in there.

That was the worst burrito-related experience of my life... And I'VE eaten at TACO BELL. Sorry guys - I like to support local business, but I will not be returning, and I'm definitely going to keep everyone I know away.

The Burrito Bowl’s catering services are absolutely phenomenal! We’ve always loved their restaurant locations, so having them cater our wedding was an easy decision—and they exceeded every expectation.

From start to finish, working with Jessica, their event coordinator, was a dream. She brought our vision to life and made the planning process seamless. They truly can do anything you dream up! We had a traditional cocktail hour with passed appetizers, and we’re still receiving compliments on the food and service.

For dinner, their taco truck served tacos, burritos, and build-your-own bowls alongside a nacho bar. We also included a pasta bar with four different pasta and sauce options, which was a huge hit! Every station was allergy-friendly, and our gluten-free guests were thrilled with the delicious variety.

We can’t thank Ed, Calvin, and Jessica enough for all their hard work. Everything was absolutely perfect, and the food was incredible. We wholeheartedly recommend their catering services for any event—you won’t be...
