DO NOT conflate MoCA Asia Bistros in NY with this location! I believe that the owner of the restaurant did this on purpose. This name "Moca" is only to gain attraction due to the popularity of MoCA Asian Bistro in NY. This is just a cheap shot and I believe that MoCA in NY should take action towards this restaurant. Restaurants like these should give credibility or at least join the franchise of restaurants under MoCA instead of taking the name and making it their own with a different logo and menu.
History of MoCA Asian Bistro NY!!: Since 2006, MoCA Asian Bistro has been a family of highly acclaimed fine-dining restaurants serving Asian cuisine to New Yorkers. Over the course of more than 15 years, the company has grown organically from one to three locations in the greater New York City metropolitan area by innovating and perfecting an extensive repertoire of popular dishes. The recipes are exclusive to MoCA and are based on and inspired by the culinary traditions of Asia's most popular culinary hotspots. These dishes have evolved over time, ensuring the success of each new fine-dining establishment under the MoCA brand.
The ambiance of MoCA Asian Bistro restaurants can be described as warm, elegant, romantic, and modern, with artworks and aesthetic motifs from Asian cultures lavishly and tastefully ornamented. Each location has a large sushi bar and a full-service cocktail bar, as well as a number of private and semi-private VIP rooms with advanced audio-visual equipment that can accommodate large, medium, and small banquets.
Relation: You might be wondering, how does this history of the original MoCA Asian Bistro in NY relate to this review? Well I would like to say, their services are more high end and they have been open for way longer and have attained a lot more credibility than what Moca Malvern has. This restaurant discredits how much MoCA Asian Bistro in NY has come and what kinds of restaurants they have built over the past decade and a half. If you are going to open a restaurant to market, using another restaurant's name is the worst choice of ideas. This is ridiculous and should be looked over by lawyers or business management. For example, if I were to open an apple store and just call it "ApPlE" and flip the apple logo upside down, you would imagine the consequences that would follow suit. I am hoping this restaurant can learn from its mistakes.
In conclusion, I will definitely reach out to MoCA Asian Bistro in NY to see if this is acceptable. There should not be the use of the same brand name, that a company works so many years to accomplish, to only be used to gain attraction and business. I am very disappointed in Moca Malvern Asian cuisine. I am hoping you do not open many and will work with MoCA Asian Bistro under...
Read moreI'm from NJ and was in the area to see my grandchildren delivered. I Googled Asian cuisine and the reviews led me to drive 50 minutes in traffic to this establishment. Long story short, everything was fabulous. The greeting, the service but the food was EXCEPTIONAL. Everything that I ordered was delicious and I ordered take out for my daughter and her husband.
We talked about the food for two days so when we were on our way back home to NJ, the evening of Dec 15th, I called to order food to go. Straight away the woman who took my order over the phone had an unpleasant demeanor. So that I wouldn't alienate her any further I was extra polite with "Please" and "Thank You (s)" .
When I arrived, she was at the front desk with all of her funky attitude. I don't have any idea what effected her customer service skills but they were absent and not what I had experienced previously nor did I appreciate.
I paid and asked her for some mustard sauce and she curtly said that it was in the bag. Another woman who was there when I dined in two days early witnessed this interaction and she put additional mustard packets in my bag.
The food that was so exceptional days before was meh at best that day. I assumed that different cooks were working or that what ever was going on there was reflected in the food and this woman's behavior.
I would go back for what I initially experienced, but I would also not stay if I encountered the woman and she exhibited the...
Read moreSpacious and nicely decorated. Very slow service for usual menu items. When we went for dine-in, there were no other guests, still we had to wait for more than 20 mins to get just 3 items. The menu with is overloaded with all famous Asian dishes. Interestingly the menu mentions if any dish is RAW by the R prefixed. Here is what we ordered and our experience: Tom Kah Soup with chicken- Pretty unique taste. It was a holy marriage of the thai redcurry paste and coconut milk. Superb taste!!! Thai Red Curry with Chicken- Disappointing. Very blunt in taste. Never had potatoes in a thai curry before. That was totally absurd!! Kung pao style shrimp- Amazing!! The best one for me till date. Chicken Pad Thai- Average!! The fish sauce more and soy sauce was less. Personally, I am not a great fan of fish sauce. Fried Ice-cream- This was a pretty normal ice-cream.
Check the pics. Also I would like to mention the front-desk lady is absolutely gorgeous and very...
