The name being “Glory of India”? I don’t think so. More like disappointment. I hate to leave bad reviews but people need to know how awful it was. If I cooked like that I would NOT open a restaurant OMG.
Where do I even begin?…. So the goat curry and lamb vindaloo were soupy and watery, did not cling to the rice at all, they just drained to the bottom of the plate. The “onion salad” was a joke, basically just a red onion cut up with a couple jalapeño peppers in it and no dressing, just 2 lemon wedges. The naan was seriously lacking flavor. The portions were tiny. Almost no lamb in the lamb vindaloo. The portions of rice pudding are basically in a container u would use for dressing or a condiment - tiny. They were watery and WAY too sweet! Just awful. The coconut soup was basically just coconut. I didn’t try it but needless to say most of it was left.
I leave one start reviews for places I will never go to again and would never recommend and this restaurant definitely didn’t even earn the one star.
I will mention one thing, my friend enjoyed the meal which I was shocked to hear, so to defend those who actually gave more than one star, I guess some people’s palates are much more forgiving. I have had Indian food plenty of times and NEVER EVER was the lamb vindaloo and goat curry watery and greasy like that. If I could sum up the entire experience in one word it would be DISAPPOINTING. And to add insult to injury, it was kind of expensive for those...
Read moreI am a restaurant manager and I like to try different foods. I had Indian food many times before. This was the worst. I just ordered about an hour ago, I put it on comment section that this first time I am ordering from them. If this is how they cook always, I wonder how they are still in business. We couldn't eat the entrees' because all meat had the taste of stale food. It was not fresh, also I am not sure if they keep it in closed container until they cook. They don;t know the marinating, seasoning, nothing about giving taste to a meal. Portions were small, meals were overpriced, yet there was no taste on any of them what so ever. Even rice is very dry, not enough butter. That's only if they cook it with butter at all of course. I am cooking right now after a long day of work. If you don't have a heart in this business, please don't do it at all. The food is passion, it's an art. It requires love, consistency and discipline. This is second time I am writing negatively about a restaurant in over 20 years of my restaurant management experience. I am usually very understanding and give places second chance.. or even third chance. But there is no saving...
Read moreI am not sure what to say, this place has provided me with both the best and worst Indian food I’ve ever had in my life. To be nice would be to say they are, at best, inconsistent. My gf and I order the same thing every time and the first couple of times it was absolutely incredible. It was everything we wanted. We were raving to everyone about the place - we are new to Easthampton. However, since then it has been hit or miss and, when they miss, they really miss. The past two times I have ordered the food has been disgusting. I am sitting here with food I ordered, and I refuse to finish it, it is that bad - and it was not cheap! It’s watery, it’s too acidic, it’s too sweet, it’s gross. I am so disappointed. I do not think we will order from here again. I am not sure if they just wing it or what, maybe they have a new cook, but the recipes are different every time and, lately, it’s...
