This was my first visit, together with a friend. She had a quesadilla with chorizo, and I had a burrito with pulled beef. My burrito was heavy on rice and refried beans, with much of the beef located at the far end, and the seasoning was very mild. A taste of my friend's quesadilla was much more interesting and generally appealing. Service was quick. One places orders at the counter and busses one's own table. I had one of the house-made agua frescas to drink, the limonada, which was pleasantly tart and refreshing, without being overly sweet. While not overwhelmed by this visit, I'm inclined to give them another try, for a bolder food choice next time, now that I know they're on the conservative side with their seasoning. I am also now aware that if I want something like pico de Gallo added, I'll need to specify that, rather than assume it will...
Read moreI've been going to the other locations for almost 20 years. It hasn't changed much, or at all, over those years, but it does feel like this new Easthampton location is attempting some new things, such as having a more full, modern bar, and clearly offering burritos as bowls (hold the tortilla). My wife and I went and I ordered pulled chicken tacos, which were absent any kind of cheese or sauce, so, quite dry without my adding salsa; and my wife ordered the pulled beef bowl, which while delicious, should come with a fat/calorie warning and a gym membership. Her bowl was missing cilantro (which was in the name of the dish), so we both enjoyed it, but saw the missing pieces. Maybe they can up their game as they go on at this location and even -- gasp! does it happen in the valley? -- offer specials! Imagine...
Read moreGreat new addition to Easthampton's growing restaurant scene. Large space with a big bar. Lots of seating in this popular spot. I ordered the Enchilada/Tamale combo. The enchilada was so delicious. I am very picky about Mexican food having lived on the border for many years. The tamale was a let down but the rice and beans and side of guac were all fantastic. I love the salsa bar at Veracruzana. They have one of the best salsas I have ever had. The (drinking) bar has many options to choose from including an array of margaritas and Jarritos mixed cocktails. I would definitely go to this spot again for lunch or dinner. They do offer a couple of typical breakfast dishes on the menu all day/night so if you want some Huevos Rancheros or Huevos con Chorizo, you are in luck with Veracruzana!...
