Lutzi's Restaurant — Restaurant in Easton

My husband and I have passed this restaurant so many times but never stopped in. Last night we finally did and this is now our new favorite restaurant in all of the Lehigh Valley! We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of chatting with Phil (their amazing Bartender) during our 2 hour visit. We then met Lexi who steered us in the best possible direction for their amazing dessert menu. Before the night was over we had the pleasure of meeting Gloria, the beautiful Mother of the owner of the restaurant.

To say that the food is delicious, is really an understatement. It was as close to homemade as you could ever imagine and we just can't wait to go back and try more dishes. Last night I had the Short Ribs, served with Mashed Potatoes and fresh Veggies. My husband had a Pork Chop served with Mashed Potatoes and amazing Brussel Sprouts. Both entrees were gigantic, beyond fresh and tasted absolutely amazing! It was hard to make a decision from their huge list of housemade desserts (made by the one and only Gloria), but we opted for the Banana Cake. This cake was so moist, fresh and flavorful that we were sorry that we didn't leave enough room to enjoy it all-- but we did take half of it home. And I can't forget to mention that this is the kind of restaurant that actually pours a full glass of wine - not halfway, not 3/4 way, but right to the top!

I cannot say enough good things about this hidden treasure! We walked in as newbies that recently moved from NJ to Easton, but left feeling so welcomed and appreciated from everyone we met. As we walked out, we thanked Gloria for an enjoyable evening and told her that we'll definitely be back. She thanked us for coming in and said " We look forward to seeing you again - you're family now."

Im not one to leave a bad review but I felt the need after my bad experience. I’ve eaten here before and enjoy the food but after today I will not be going back . Our waitress rushed me and my partner as soon as we sat down and asked for our entire food order and never brought a high chair after asking 2 times and her asking me as well. When bringing out appetizers she didn’t even look at us and threw it down on the table and my partner tried to get her attention and she walked away . When bringing our food she once again threw the food on the table without looking at us , didn’t ask if we need refills or anything. We had to ask her for one and she just grabbed our cup and walked away rudely. Me and my partner had to leave because the atmosphere just felt so uncomfortable and unwelcoming, but we had to get up and ask for our own check and box because the waitress never came to check on us . I was really trying to give our waitress the benefit of the doubt that maybe she was busy but watching her being very attentive to other customers made it very clear . Me and my partner were the only people of color in this restaurant so it made the discretion very obvious. I called a week prior and ordered a carrot cake for Father's day. When I came to pick the cake up at 2:00 they had already given it to someone else that morning. Johnny who is the owner or manager was very nice and said he would have another cake made free of charge and have it delivered to my house. I told him I would come back and pick it up at 7:00. When I came to pick up the cake I noticed the cake just looked like a vanilla frosted cake. It was super plain looking so I tried to decorate it as best as I could. I presented the cake to my husband, sliced a peice and noticed there was no pineapple ( I was told there would be pineapple in the cake) no nuts, no carrots no nothing! And the cake had a awful after taste. It seemed like the cake was thrown together at the last minute. When I sliced it it fell apart. I have pictures. Remember it was a plain white cake and I tried to decorate it. Mind you I appreciate the no charge because this whole mishap was not my fault at all but I would rather have paid and gotten a delicious cake.
