I've been going here with my wife since we were 17 years old in 2004. Her family went here even longer before she was even born. Her Nanny (Grandmother) went here with her Nanny's Mother Once! Loved going here with her relatives as well. The sweet rolls and cheese rolls are absolutely delicious and I've never seen them or had them anywhere else. I even looked and requested at other places before to no avail. The bakery up front is AWESOME! Having Large Tables with all your friends and family here is awesome! Serving trays with great customer service and friendliness all over the place with delicious and amazing food! The booths are comfortable. There's a few fun window views and decent lighting and decent outdoor lighting. Looks nice. Jukeboxes at the tables, at least there were back in the day. Bathrooms were cleaned and decent. I DO WISH the surrounding area would RESPECT this FAMOUS BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ HISTORICAL DINER. Yes, indeed it has long reached that point for many, many decades now. The surrounding area needs to improve such as the disgusting Advanced Royal Auto Group that went out of business and the nasty Orchard Park next to it. Now Big Lots is closing too and it shouldn't just as Starbucks is opening. I wish this Diner could just EXPAND AND UPGRADE EVEN FURTHER! That way we can all listen to music, watch TV, maybe even dance or even watch live performances and shows inside and outside of the awesome diner. They could even install an enclosed outdoor eating area and put in even more bathrooms. They could even put in privacy booths if they ever wanted to, or do kid's birthday parties and catering. I LOVE getting all kinds of food here, especially on BIRTHDAYS AND HOLIDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES AND CELEBRATIONS!!! My wife loves the chicken croquettes with mashed potatoes and gravy. I love breakfast and burgers and BBQ meats, meats and vegetables. We both love coffee and dessert. This place is AWESOME!!! We've had almost everything on the menu since we were teenagers and will still return in our 40s. Old people repeatedly come here for good reasons too. It's so easy to understand why. I remember coming here after Edgewater Park used to host events, festivals, parades, celebrations and parties as well. Willingboro and Burlington City used to have pretty amazing stuff back in the day too and coming to this diner before, during or afterwards was truly awesome!!! Those were the...
Read moreMy companion and I visited Golden Dawn diner around 8pm on a Tuesday. The Diner had a few occupied tables. Service was slow to non existent with so few tables and multiple wait staff. My companion had a toasted bran muffin and coffee. Muffin was buttered and toasted and was still very dry. Coffee came with 1 creamer. Refills on coffee were never offered, she had to ask and it looked painful for the young, male waiter to have to do such a hard chore like refill coffee. I ordered a Rubin. Big mistake. It was horrid. It looked like they took 2 slices of rye bread, slapped some sour kraut on it, dry meat and a slice of cheese and put it under the broiler. The sandwich was not grilled or toasted. The sandwich showed up without coleslaw, pickles or condiments. After about 5 minutes, the hostess was seating another table and we stopped her to ask for condiments. The mustard was old and watery, quite scary. The male server never came to check on us..or another server for that matter. After sitting for 10 minutes, he did come and take plates, leaving my companion to have to ask again, for coffee and creamer which he was not happy about and brought her a new half cup with no saucer who I he held like he was drinking it. He asked if I wanted a box for my uneaten sandwich and when I declined he chuckled. I would not recommend eating here if you are a local. This used to be a...
Read moreTwo slices of avocado toast topped with diced tomatoes, cilantro and a medium-well fried egg for each slice or rye bread cooked to perfection if I may say. Hot I LOVE LEMON tea ( hold dat sugah lol). ALL with a side of pickled jalapeños and corn beef hash w/fried onions. Oh and I almost forgot hot sauce (Tabasco to be exact)
My waitress today, Miss Brandi. Delightful, attentive and just overall KIND. Thanks for going that little extra mile bringing me the 2nd teabag when I was so sure I was not going to need it but I very well did. Those small gestures really mean something to people. Thank you to you Miss Brandi & the entire staff who make this diner what it is today...a delicacy.
Today I came here not feeling my best with a mind filled with chaos. However, now my thoughts are calmer but my belly and heart are full. Can a meal really bring a small peace of happiness to a family, a couple, a single young women dealing with the gruelling reality of life. Hell yea ! That mixed with meaningful connections, hot sauce, and a lot of love.
A meal could probably change the world, but for today it changed my mindset and gave me a reason to smile. I hope that you visit this diner I’ve oh so loved for 20 plus years and leave with the same feeling.
