The ones who recommended this ice cream shop to me raved about its huge portions, low prices, and delicious flavors. I don’t know if I would’ve believed it as much without seeing with my own eyes. I stopped by last night with family for the first time and I can tell you I already have plans on returning soon. I heard it gets crazy packed but we went there in the dead of winter so there was no line or wait 🙌🏼. Service was just as sweet as their icecream. But the true highlights are below:

First, the flavors: they have a wide variety of decadent flavors, toppings, and other options. It might seem overwhelming, but don’t worry. With options so delicious, you really can’t go wrong. Current personal favorites are “death by chocolate,” “salted caramel truffle“ and “blueberry cheesecake“.

Next, portion sizes: I don’t think I’ve ever, in my entire 28 years of existence, seen an icecream shop serve scoops so huge. To say they’re heaping would be an understatement. I got my nephew a single scoop of mint chocolate on a wafer cone. The girl who served it gets brownie points (pun intended 😛) for first packing the inside of the cone before topping it with a scoop so large that she ended offering us a med-sized bowl and to put it upside down in to make sure it didn’t fall off the cone. It was huge! And every scoop we got was equally as ginormous . Like at least half a pint size. I wish I took pictures but we ate it all up so fast 😋 will try to remember to take pictures for reference next time

Finally, pricing: I simply don’t know how these guys are making a profit. First, they procure and prepare delicious, fancy flavors. Next, (and I warn you from suspecting exaggeration here because I truly am not) they serve them in scoops larger than I have quite literally ever seen in comparison to any ice cream shop I have ever been to (and I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve been to many 🙂‍↕️). The cherry on top (hehe 😛) was the super low prices. I got four scoops & soft serve with a waffle cone on the side and it came out to $21. How?? Needless to say, I will be back. Soon. I found my new icecream spot for life 🫶🏻

I have never been so disappointed. I have ordered an ice cream cake for a birthday celebration every year for years now. I placed my order on time several days before I needed it. Gave a pick up time of 2pm Sunday July 13th. Went to pick it up today, stood in line for approx 35 min. Got to the counter and told them I was here to get my cake. Gave them all the information and the gentleman brought the cake out and I looked at it and nicely said that was not my cake. He went to the back again and looked and looked and come up and said your cake was dropped earlier and was not remade. He said he would call to see if another could be made and when it would be able to be picked up. Now it is now 5pm I explained the reason I picked it up a little later was I did not have room in the freezer for the cake. He is now saying that they can make one and pick up at 7. My guests were already at my home. I was very upset if you knew earlier it was dropped why would you not have already had another made or call if their was a concern.

Being upset I just left. I called the store and asked to speak with the manager. The gentleman who picked up the phone did not introduce himself or address himself as the manager. This was the same person who waited on me while at the store. He proceeds to tell me that the cake was dropped and they forgot and it was not their fault. Whose fault was it?!? Mine for trusting you would make a new one and you did not. He kept telling me it was not their fault. Very poor customer service skills.told him I would be there at 7pm to get the cake.

I asked this gentleman to have the owner call since I know she is the one who makes the cakes. Never received the call.

Called at 7pm to ensure the cake was ready to only be told they did not make it and that they could give me a cake that was vanilla and strawberry. That was not what I ordered. I want to be the first to say that Holiday Ice cream has the best ice cream that I have ever had and I am a regular customer that goes there once or twice EVERY SINGLE WEEK. However, I have had enough of the terrible customer service!!! First, every time that I go in there, there is ALWAYS a 30min-40 min wait every Friday-Sunday. There were literally only be 2 cashiers with the line funneling out the door or approximately 35-40 people in line. This is INSANE, and they have made completely 0 effort to resolve the problem. Last night was the complete final straw(August 2nd 2024) when at 9:50 P.M a lady looks to be of Asian decent completly locked the door in my face as I was walking up.(Even when they are suppose to be open until 10PM) I have been a consistent Holiday supporter since I was born(for over 20 years) and a resident of Edgewater Park, but last night was the final straw.
