El Burro Dos — Restaurant in Edgewood

Not a good one and I don't have the money to waste going back with my kids a second time. Overpriced for what you get. 7$ for a cheese quesadilla and 2$ extra to add chicken for my kids....and nothing else. Two pieces of bread..flavourless cheese and bland chicken. I ordered two street tacos..arrives with nothing but meat and bread and cold. I asked how they were supposed to be served and she said not like that. Came back with the same two cold tacos with a pinch of something on them. I never ate them. Not worth my time. And 2 buck for guacamole in a cup the size a nurse gives you to take pills from....come on man. Nickle and diming people is so outdated This is why places like this make people venture out to eat with those families but end up cooking at home again. El Burro's food is delicious. I've been there 3 times in the last week, and I just keep wanting to go back. El Burro is now my go-to for a quick meal around Regent Square. The food is almost always ready within 10 minutes, so you can call and leave your house immediately and it will be ready when you get there. The tacos themselves are a bit no-frills, but it lets the main ingredient really speak for itself, and they prepare their meats/potatoes/vegan options very well.

I'm not sure what the other reviewer meant by the interior being a "pretentious Tex-Mex Hollister". That's about the last thing I would have thought when visiting El Burro. It's a small space, sure, but there's nothing they can do about that. I like that it's dark and cozy inside. It sets the mood well when dining out with a date. I recommend you stop in and try it...

LOVED this place and can't wait to go back. The back patio was beautiful and the server told us they fully open it up in the summer. We shared the California Burrito (steak, french fries, guacamole, cheese, and pico - and I added jalapenos for a kick!) and the Shrimp tacos (cabbage, pico, queso fresco, and a chipotle sour cream) with plenty of shrimp. My 9yo son loved the quesadilla, chips and salsa, and the soda selection of course. It was all SO GOOD! I ordered a premium marg and they ask whether or not you want salt which I love because I don't like it. Really nice cocktail and beer selection and a HUGE veg/vegan menu which we can't wait to try for our families meat-free days. Staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I even heard the server speaking both English and then Spanish - she was impressive!...
