this cafe is identical to 61C which is in Squirrel Hill which I frequently visit. So, in a way, it felt like a dĂ©jĂ  vu. if you’re wondering, guess they named after the bus routes. I went on a weekday evening, and I was the only Customer at the cafe for a good hour and a half. Towards closing, a couple of other customers came in. There is plenty of seating inside, or you can choose to sit outside where there are a couple of chairs. I got the ice latte and also an oatmeal raisin cookie. Then general have a large cookie and a biscotti menu, and I always prefer the cookie because they generally quite nice. What I find a little bit problematic with both the cafes is the attention to detail. I asked for my coffee to be sweetened with honey, which they agreed to. I also asked for my cookie to be heated. Once I took a sip of my coffee, I realised that they had not added honey, and I had to ask them to do that explicitly. Also, after heating my cookie, they forgot to give it to me, so I had to go and ask for it again. The barista actually did seem sweet, but I just think it’s just a lack of experience. The coffee in general was also below average. I’m not sure what went wrong because it seemed a lot watered down. Maybe the ratio of coffee to milk was of which is a shame because the flavour was actually quite nice. The good thing about both these cafes are that they are open till late in the evening when a lot of other cafes close down and in that sense, they don’t really have competition after a certain point in the day. I just think they need to work a little bit more on their customer experience.

First time at this one and it was nice. Got a chicken salad on a croissant and some biscottis to take home. The chicken salad was fine, a solid savory choice. Not the best or worst I have had. We got a few smoothies and a green tea matcha latte which were all good. The mango smoothie was lacking in mango flavor though. The staff were patient while we decided what to get. Cleanliness was ok but not great. There is no parking lot so you can park on the street. I didn't get coffee this time cause it is a bit pricey for what I normally pay for which I already mentioned in a different review.

61B is super cool and very pittsburgh. I also enjoy their sister store in squirrel hill. The barista was super kind and helpful. There is a spiral staircase that goes to a lower level. They sell coffee grinds here too. I got the mocha latte and it was great. The prices are great comparatively for other coffee shops.

Long-time regular and I will never come back

I’ve been going to 61B for four years and was very happy to see that they survived the devastation of the pandemic. That being said, I will never go back after my experience today with what appeared to be the owner.

I had already ordered coffee but was still thirsty and hoped to get a cup of water after business had calmed. While standing at the counter, the owner walked by a few times without noticing me, prompting me to politely say “excuse me” when we passed, although it didn’t seem to catch his attention. A little time later he passed again. I repeated “excuse me,” still trying to be as polite as possible while making sure to be noticeable. At this point he continued to walk by, seemingly pretending I wasn’t there. While in earshot I followed up, “you wouldn’t happen to have any water?” His response was to almost imperceivably shake his head without so much as looking at me. Ok.

It was a very weird interaction, because I couldn’t figure out if I had done something rude. There was a person waiting on their food at the counter, not in line, and I was worried I possibly cut them? I’m not an inconsiderate person but sometimes can be by accident. Who isn’t? I didn’t want to focus on it too much so I went back to drawing and drinking my coffee.

No more than ten minutes passed and I heard him begin to carp to his employee about a self-professed inability to deal with “rude” customers. “If I don’t have a day off I just have to ignore them.” He then proceeded to mock me, repeating “excuse me, excuse!” before instructing his worker to handle the interactions going forward.

While I was concerned initially that I had been rude, I wasn’t going to hold the interaction against him despite being fairly certain he chose to ignore me. But to hear him openly mock me as I’m sitting a few feet away is a level of disrespect I’ve never experienced.

I can’t fathom the audacity of a person to behave in such a manner. It breaks my heart to say this, as up until now I’ve loved this coffee shop, but I can confidently say they have received my...

What did u do?! A quick stop in for my once weekly latte really put a damper on my day I don't know where you hired him or her or they but they are rude they are not cheerful whatsoever they wear a mask as if they're a germaphobe but they grab your cups to serve your drinks with their fingers deep inside the cup as if germs were not a thing they mess up your order and they walk out the door after you to say you're welcome Snidely as you walk away I've been coming to your spot for over 7 years you used to have somebody there when it was also rude I stopped coming for a year but the last year I've been coming there I've never ran into this inhumane thing and I guarantee I will never run into them again you just lost 40 bucks a week from me and many more that don't write reviews if you're in customer service and you're working behind a bar dealing with people it might help to have a little bit of manners and a little bit of cheerfulness and a little bit of respect for others it's people like this that makes hate exist in the world and I hate no one but I will not frequent your business ever again because of your employee

Follow up 10 min later.... I just realized I walked out because I was so irritated and uncomfortable and forgot to put sugar and cream in my Americano now I'm...
