This restaurant is one of the best brunch restaurants in Pittsburgh. I know this restaurant in Instagram and go there for brunch two days in a row. I am down to go again. The design of the restaurant is cool. The dishes are named after famous people. For example, the egg Benedict dishes are named after famous artist and the sandwiches are named after famous musicians. Also, the restroom has photos of famous actors and actress. For the two times I visited the restaurant, my friends and I ordered the Picasso (egg Benedict), the Einstein (French toast) and Ceasar (omelettes). An interesting fact about the dishes there is that you get salad by default instead of potato, which makes the dishes a lot healthier compared to other brunch restaurants. The Picasso (egg Benedict) is well cooked and the sauce is creamy. The combination of the egg, the smoked salmon and the scone is well balanced. This is the first time I do not want to finish a dish because it taste so good. The portion of this dish is not big, so I high recommend people to try it out if they are not super hungry. My friend ordered the Eistien (French toast). He expected it to be the sweet french toast. It turned out to be a more savory one. There are two pieces of French toast. Both are pan fried and they are crispy. In the middle, they put in some tomatoes and cheese. On top of the french toast are two sunny side up eggs. You can eat the toast with the eggs so that you can taste the crispy toast, cheese and the creamy eggs at the same time. The Ceasar (omelettes) is the reason I go to the restaurants the second day. I saw people ordered it and they looked tasty and in large portion. The omelette is served with two toasts. I choose the sour dough. For people who do not like the sour flavor of the dough, the source flavor of the sour dough is not intense. The omelette is is soft. By putting the smoked salmon and omelette on top of the sour dough, I can enjoy the crispy source dough, the soft omelette and the tasty smoked salmon at the same time, which is super enjoyable. I also saw a lot of people order the cinnamon balls, which I really want to try!

The current rating is very deceptive. I had this place on my list of my places to try for a while based on their menu, rating and photos of the food, but I was incredibly let down by the food itself and now feel very confused by all of the positive reviews. Not a single item of the four that my husband and I ordered was fresh. I understand that not everything can be scratch made, but at the very least the meat should be cooked to order. We ordered the cinnamon balls and mac and cheese bites, which were definitely just frozen pre-packaged snacks but were ultimately fine. Not fresh, but tasted okay. The main entrees were a crab cake benedict and a fried chicken benedict and they were truly inedible and disgusting (we each ate one bite of each thing on the plate and were finished, didn't bother to order anything else or take home leftovers). The biscuits for each are frozen, the "fried chicken" is the same chicken patty they serve in a high-school cafeteria cut in half, the "cole slaw" on each was actually dry bagged cole-slaw mix with no dressing, the "fresh pickled cucumber" was a jarred pickle cut down the middle, home-fries were frozen ore-ida potatoes, hollandaise was from a jar or can. I truly would not be surprised if even the poached eggs were somehow pre-made because the entire order came out in minutes and the eggs themselves had a strange and unappealing texture. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and sweet and I want to be very clear that this negative review is strictly because of the food, the staff was excellent! We ended up leaving hungry after paying over $60 for a breakfast I could've bought from the freezer section of Walmart. What a waste of money and a rare breakfast date. As a non-chain restaraunt, this place needs to do so much better.

The current rating being a 4.7 is crazyyy. I don’t think that’s accurate at all. Pittsburgh’s finest restaurants don’t even rate that high. Anyway. The food was okay, not memorable. I ordered the Nutcracker, which was listed under “Salads and Bowls” on the menu. I kind of expected what was listed in the menu to be on top of a salad given its categorization, but no, it was neither a salad nor in a bowl. It was 4 silver dollar sized cheese patties with fruit and two dips. It was fine, but I wasn’t very impressed. The walnuts are literally just raw walnuts, not caramelized or anything. My companion ordered the Einstein French toast. Savory French toast is an interesting take. He said he wouldn’t order it again. Meanwhile, while we’re eating, we’re being stared down at by soulless AI “art.” It was unsettling. To me, it’s really sad that the owners choose to display AI-generated images of famous people, some of whom were artists themselves. It’s a slap in the face to those late artists and to the restaurant patrons. For God’s sake, put anything on the wall except AI! Better yet, hire a real human artist to paint you something. Even the pictures of food on the front counter were AI-generated! At a restaurant! I fear even if the food was good, I wouldn’t come back as long as the restaurant is decorated as it is.

Nice to have a quality breakfast place in Regent Square. I believe the place that used to be here was also a breakfast spot or cafe. It's been a while since I've had breakfast out, and I just wanted something cheap and simple. Nothing too heavy or fancy. So, I decided to try out their cinnamon balls. They recommend to order these as an 'breakfast appetizer' and split it with someone, but I just had it as my entree. If you are a fan of donut holes from Dunkin, these are similar, but in my opinion, way better. They had the perfect amount of sugar and are not too oily. Sweet, slightly crispy, fluffy on the inside. And, the whipped cream seems homemade and genuinely creamy! For just $6, this is a great deal. The portion is fantastic, and I can definitely see its easy to share. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place! It's new and this was a great first impression. Prices are great, and the portions are too. Quality is high. They offer many savory and sweet options (the classic like French toast, omelets, and more, with their unique spin on them) as well as more unique options (the Nutcracker with Tvorog cheese!). Some BYO options. Entrees usually $13-15. Very good!

Famous Cafe is hands down my top pick for breakfast in Pittsburgh! It's not just a meal, it's a unique and unforgettable experience. What sets this place apart is their menu, which is cleverly named after famous artists, musicians, and poets, and crafted by the owner, making it truly one-of-a-kind, something you won't find anywhere else on this planet. What truly makes Famous Cafe exceptional, though, is the attention to detail. They've got it all perfectly arranged, and you can tell that they pour their heart into every aspect of your visit. But it's not just about the food; the staff here is a class apart. They're not just friendly, they're like friends you've known forever. They know their regulars by name, and it gives you that warm, welcoming feeling every time you walk through the door. Oh, and did I mention that they have a dog-friendly outside area? Yep, you can bring your fur babies along for the experience too. And then there's the coffee. Let me tell you, it's not just good, it's exceptional. It's simply impossible to get enough of their delicious food and the overall delightful experience they offer.

The food was delicious. It is a small place, but very cozy and with a cute decor and portraits of famous people on the walls. All the items on the menu are named for various famous people too! We had a group of 10, so I had called ahead and made sure they could handle us. We were told it was best either before 10 am or after 12:30 pm. so we came later. We arrived a few minutes ahead and had a brief wait outside, but were seated fairly quickly. The service was excellent and we were all able to have separate checks. The Eggs Benedict selections are excellent, and the French toast with fruit topping and Nutella was also very yummy! I ordered the "Edison" french toast with cheese in the middle and fresh fruit and fruit compote on top, plus a Chai Tea Latte which is sinfully rich and topped with creamy foam and cinnamon. Others had omlettes said they were "okay" so I'd recommend the Eggs Benedict selections or the French toast ... and maybe the salads and sandwiches also, but I haven't had those yet ... so much to try! The owner was very welcoming and accommodating and invited us to come again ... and I'm sure we will!
