Rare Steak & Sushi — Restaurant in Edina

Mediocre sushi with waitstaff that could not be slower if they actively tried. Usually the sushi chef ends up bringing the food over himself when he has a break because they just leave the restaurant for long stretches. Plan to spend a minimum of an hour here and then to feel like you wasted both your time and money in the end. Other than the location literally inside Lifetime for convenience, it is difficult to think why I have not walked the 100 steps to the next unaffiliated restaurant or how I have made the mistake of forgetting how awful it is to eat here and then coming back. The mediocre food is likely why I do this since it is easy to forget since they're not actively poisoning you, just being massively disappointing. The service, across multiple different waitstaff, is deplorable, and as I write this, the waitress has just been reminded that a customer has been waiting ten minutes for a menu. Well, the sushi is not bad. We ordered three different Sushies (Mexican, Cherry Blossoms, angry Emily) and two Nigiris salmon and shrimp. The Nigiris were horrible, low-quality Wasabi, which they had a lot for the Nigiri. The shrimp and Salmon were dry and simple, with no soy sauce. I want to say the sushi is similar to Billy's sushi but cheaper. It was too simple for my taste. So far, Cubble House and Kado No Mise have the best sushi in Minneapolis and surrounding areas.
