I’ve gone to the Lobby 3 times, since I live extremely close by. The first time they completely forgot to make my breakfast sandwich. I reached out to management after the fact and was given a very generous gift card for the inconvenience. Second time I got my full order no problem - and was apologized to by one of the workers who had been there during my previous visit. The third time I ordered a drink for myself and a drink for my boyfriend. I got my cold brew and sat, waiting for the latte I ordered to be made. After a point I realized people who came in waaaaaay after me were getting their items before me. Nearly 25 minutes had passed. So I went to the cashier (the same worker as the previous visit) and, lo and behold, they forgot to make my order yet again. In full disclosure they were gracious and refunded me, but this is kind of absurd that so many orders (at least of mine) are being missed or falling through the cracks. I’ve worked in a cafe and this is sloppy and careless and annoying. I’m not sure if I will be back yet - but I certainly won’t stop in if I’m...

I was visiting from out of town and I walked in thinking, “Cool, another coffee shop.” I walked out wondering if I should change my mailing address to Edina, MN just to be closer. The espresso doesn’t just wake you up—it whispers sweet affirmations to your soul. The lattes? Crafted so perfectly they should come with a frame. And don’t even get me started on the baristas—Latif and his crew treat you like family, if your family also happened to have impeccable latte art skills and an advanced degree in hospitality.
Other shops: “Here’s your coffee.” The Lobby: “Here’s your personality in liquid form, topped with latte art so good it should hang in the Walker Art Center.”
If you’re in Minneapolis and you don’t swing by The Lobby, you’re basically admitting...
Read moreOut-of-towner and coffee snob here! I live in a city where coffee shops are a stones throw from anywhere and have experienced a 0 to a 10. The Lobby has not disappointed me. I'm a simple latte lover and they deliver. The pastries are simple and well made. The shop was extremely clean and the staff has been consistent in the quality they serve. The quality of the espresso is delicious and doesn't taste burnt. The drink temperature hasn't been too hot to drink(as it should be). The foam doesn't collapse because it's been steamed too long....I could keep going but won't. I believe the owner is passionate about delivering quality products to his guests. Latif and I chatted for the majority of my morning visit which was refreshing and positive. If you are a runner or simply looking for good company stop by one of...
