Atomic Wings — Restaurant in Edina

Man... let me tell you, these wings are for real!! I tried Atomic Wings for the first time today, and couldn't have been more impressed! This is nothing like Bdubs or Wingstop. The sauces are made in house, and you can tell from the very first bite!

I tried the Mango Habenero and Atomic Buffalo. The owner, Ron, and the woman working the counter both said the Mango Hab was their favorite, and I can see why.. this sauce was made with real mango!! It didn't taste like spicy corn syrup like some of the major chains.. it tasted like REAL mango!!

The Atomic buffalo was also incredible! You know how some wing places make sauce that's hot, but has no flavor? This is the exact opposite!! I love spicy food, but it has to have a great flavor too. The Atomic buffalo is exactly what the Doctor ordered! I was literally sweating after one wing, but it tasted so good I had to have more!! After eating these wings, I walked into my 1:00 business meeting like an old school southern lawyer... constantly wiping the sweat from my face and fanning myself to keep the beads of sweat from running down my face.

Now let's talk about the actual chicken... I went the boneless route since I was on my way to a work meeting and didn't want to make a mess of myself, but these were the best boneless wings I've ever had!! One wing from Atomic has has more meat than 2-3 boneless wings from BWW or Wingstop. I can toss one of their boneless wings in my mouth like it's popcorn chicken, but every wing from Atomic was at least a "3 bite wing" Honestly,these were more like whole chicken tenders than what most would consider a boneless wing.

Sauce 10/10 Chicken...

Ordered Atomic Wings for delivery through Postmates and I enjoyed most of the experience.

I was thoroughly impressed by the variety of sauces that Atomic Wings provides for their Wings. I ordered 3 different varieties of the bone in and boneless Wings.

Bone-In Wings: These were by far a standout, very good taste and nicely cooked.

Boneless Wings: I'm sad to say I felt these were fairly overdone to the extent that the crispy breading had an odd bitter taste. The meat inside was clearly well seasoned but it was hard to ignore the dry overdone meat.

Waffle Fries: These were completely delectable and if I had one critique it would be potentially to avoid overstacking the containers and the whole delivery process leading to a very soggy product. I popped them in the oven and after a short time the clear flavor shone through.

Deep Fried Oreos: I felt particularly indulgent and these did not disappoint at all. These held up perfectly to transport and honestly I loved every single bite of these oreos.

I look forward to stopping by again and trying more of the variety of sauces and having some more deep...

Have now gotten take out twice in the last week. AWESOME food with an amazing crunch on the jalapeño poppers and chicken. Plenty of sauce/dip/rub options to choose from. I’ve had the buffalo flat bread and it was really good. The bbq chicken Sammie with the cole slaw on top was top notch.

I know they haven’t been open long and I’m sure, like everyone else, they’re having trouble getting all their positions filled. But both times we’ve ordered there we’re missing items. Today’s order was 6 items and the 2 sandwiches were not included. Thankfully we live close enough that a phone call fixed the issue. Disappointing to have to go back to pick them up. 9 of us ordered on another day and there were 5 items missing (Sammie’s, wings and sides).

The website is incomplete on several items (no description or images) but still ventured to order and they were good.

Really glad you’re in the neighborhood and can’t wait to return. Just hope you start checking orders better before...
