Taqueria D'Patty's Tacos y Mas — Restaurant in Edinburg

This place is awesome and the food was delicious. We were on a return visit to Texas from out of state and looking for a smaller family owner mexican food restaurant. We were staying in a hotel near by and decided to give this place a try. The place a small with just a few tables which makes it more of an intimate setting l. There was plenty of parking and the area was well lit. We walked in and the owner gentleman behind the counter was very welcoming and asked if it was our first time there. As it was our first time there, he took the time to talk to us about the plates of food we were wanting. He was very kind and wanted us to enjoy the food we were going to order and our overall experience. The food was amazing and had generous portions. The charro beans were delicious with bits of bacon cooked in as were the beef street tacos. It was nice that the sautéed onions, cilantro, and fried potato cubes were on the side so we could add what we wanted. The corn tortillas were perfect and tasted heavenly. We also ordered the Sincropizza which was amazing. Full of flavor and perfectly proportioned. The avocado slices were a nice addition. There were 2 different salsas one green (jalapeño based) and one red (chille based). The green one was hot and the red one was on fire...lol the green was hot right off the bat and the red had a delayed bite. Both were amazing so you can't go wrong with either. The owners wife makes delicious deserts and is available to make them for weddings and special occasions. We bought some Horjaras and they are heavenly. Everything was reasonably priced. Stopped by this taco shop while visiting from Houston and I must honestly say this spot was ok. I ordered the tacos de bisteck and 2 plates de Espadas. Upon waiting on our order we were served some frijoles a la charra and I must say those were extremely delicious. Now the tacos were not that great. The tortillas had a very strong smoky flavor that the lemon wouldn't even take that taste away. The bisteck had no flavor and was very bland. Went for a 3 days little vacation to the Valley for a VIPERS Basketball game. The Next day I wanted real Mexican food from the Valley DUE to they are boarder line with MEXICO💪 so I went to PATTYS TAQUERIA AND OHHH HOW DEPRESSING I ORDERD THE 3 ESPADAS ITS 3 CORN TACOS OR TOSTADAS HOW EVER YOU WANT TO RECIVIE IT MANNN THE MEAT TASTED VERY OLD LIKE IT HAD BEEN COOK AND REFRIGERATED FOR 2 WEEKS DON'T LET THEM PICTURES DECIVE YOU.
