Honest review, some food are good, some are not. The chili chicken is spicy and good. Anything with a liquid/gravy base does not taste too good. So far I have ordered the methi chicken, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and their chicken platter with naan, and they were just below average. They seem to overuse the spices, overwhelmingly i might say, but the mixture is not tasty, and they do not seem to Sautee any fresh onions, ginger, turmeric, cardamom, cloves in the mix, like tower of india in old bridge or other Indian restaurants like on oak tree rd in edison does. It seems like they just use the ground spices, nothing fresh, and when they cook it which is all the time, the spices are clumped together, so when you take a bite, its a ball of spices youre biting into-i would oftentimes find myself mixing the liquidy base on my own, or taking off remnants of spice from a cubed chicken since all the spice stuck onto that piece of chicken and so on....They also do not use a lot of tomato puree or heavy cream in the chicken tikka masala, more spice, it tasted bad and cheap. The last time I went, the lady in the front was rude, rolling her eyes and talking in a tone that sounded annoyed and impatient with me when she asked my name and order number. I am going to go back to my basic staple resturants, that are cheaper and tastier than over here, unless one day I get a hankering for their chili chicken, cause that's the only thing so far that I like from this resturant. Sighhh...
Update: I just recently went and their food was soo much better this time around with fresher ingredients or maybe I ordered the right thing. The fish makhan curry is tasty with loads of ginger, onion, and fenugreek leaves. Not so much fish in there, but very...
Read moreDelhi Garden Indian Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience with its authentic and flavorful Indian dishes. The food is undoubtedly the highlight of this establishment, with a rich variety of curries, biryanis, tandoori specialties, and vegetarian options that cater to diverse palates. Each dish is prepared with care, showcasing the vibrant spices and traditional cooking techniques that make Indian cuisine so beloved. If you're a fan of bold flavors and hearty meals, the food here will not disappoint.
However, the dining experience at Delhi Garden is significantly marred by its poor service and operational inefficiencies. The waiting times are excessively long, even during non-peak hours, which can be frustrating for customers. The restaurant appears to be consistently understaffed, leading to delays in taking orders, serving food, and addressing customer requests. This lack of attention and efficiency detracts from what could otherwise be a memorable meal.
Additionally, the parking situation is a major inconvenience. The parking area is extremely congested, making it difficult to find a spot, especially during busy times. This adds unnecessary stress to the overall experience and may deter potential customers from visiting.
In summary, while Delhi Garden excels in its culinary offerings, the poor service, prolonged waiting times, and inadequate parking facilities make it a less-than-ideal dining destination. If the management can address these operational issues, this restaurant has the potential to be a standout choice for Indian cuisine lovers. Until then, be prepared for great food but a frustrating...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to order from Delhi Garden, a restaurant I had heard a lot about and was eager to try. My excitement was primarily driven by their reputation for delicious Bihari kebabs and intriguing chicken platters.
Starting with the Bihari kebab, I must say it lived up to the hype. The kebab was a delightful experience, with each bite melting in my mouth and bursting with rich, aromatic flavors. The spices were perfectly balanced, creating a taste that was both complex and satisfying. However, I did find the portion size to be on the smaller side. Despite this, the quality of the kebab was so outstanding that it left a lasting impression as one of the best I've ever tasted.
On the other hand, the chicken platter was a bit of a letdown. I had high hopes for this dish, especially given its appealing description. While the white sauce accompanying the platter was quite good and added a nice touch, the chicken itself was underwhelming. Some pieces were bland, lacking the seasoning that would have elevated them to match the rest of the meal's potential. More concerningly, a few pieces were almost uncooked, which was disappointing and concerning from a food safety perspective.
Overall, my experience with Delhi Garden was mixed. The Bihari kebab showcased their ability to deliver exceptional flavors and quality, but the chicken platter highlighted some inconsistencies that need attention. I hope they can address these issues because their potential for greatness is evident in their standout dishes. I look forward to seeing how they improve and would certainly return for another round of those...
