Hot Space — Restaurant in Edison

I went here with my boyfriend yesterday for the first time and it exceeded expectations. I wish I could add a picture of what we got but I think I can only add photos if I use a laptop/desktop for the review. But, either way it looked like the pics on their website. We orded the steamed dumplings and the hot spicy seafood, which has squid, crab, and shrimp with many vegetables and a delicious and spicy broth. I also added 2 sides of steamed rice. It was all so delicious and they throw in the jelly dessert at the end which is also tasty. I wouldn't change a single thing about my order. 5/5 total hit. I wish I looked at any of their names but it doesn't matter because every single server/employee/hostess was so attentive and amazing, and not in the annoying way at like other restaurants where they ask you "hows everything" every 5 minutes and they away walk so fast that you feel awkward to ask for anything and pressured if you can't think of something. These people came by and replenished the soup when it got low/ or dried because they serve it to you over a constant flame , and they stir it for you frequenty and rotated it to ensure that the dish stayed juicy and flavorful. They give you the crab crackers, gloves, bibs, and wet naps and extra napkins ahead of time so you don't have to ask for anything. Amazing place. Ill be coming here very very often. In fact every shop in this edison, NJ strip mall by the hmart strip is so great. The boom boom chicken, mango mango, tous les Jours, paris baguette... everything.. I have to try the other...

I always love hot space's food since they first opened in brookyln and flushing, but my experience yesterday really stopped me to visit this NJ location. Me and my friend(2ppl) went in around 9:45pm cause most restaurants are closed at that time, we just wanna to have some quick food and have a men talk. We ordered some appetizers and a stir fried udon. When we placed the order, the server seems very unhappy and "recommend" us to order a fish. My friend got upset and question back "are we not allowed to eat here if we don't order the fish cause we cannot finish it?" The server replied "Most customers came in should at least order the fish or other main dishes." This is super ridiculous to us cause we both worked in the restaurant before and we totally understand the way they wanted to boost up the sales. But his attitude was very unpleasant and showing us that we are not welcomed for such a small order. I don't understand if you only got a few table sitted (i believe 4-5 groups when we walked in), what makes you trying to kick us out? My friend wanted to leave right away but I stopped him cause we couldn't find other restaurants except fast food. Again the food was great (except the cold spicy chicken which taste very wild, the meat tasted like been sitting in the cooler for a few days) and I would like to support the business, but the server really needs to have a better, professional customer service training. A Sizzling Experience at Hot Space – A Must-Visit in Edison, NJ!

Hot Space in Edison has officially become one of my favorite dining spots! From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and incredibly efficient. One thing I truly appreciated was how the staff constantly changed our used plates without us even having to ask, keeping the dining experience fresh and comfortable.

The food? Simply outstanding. If you’re a fan of bold, spicy flavors, this is the place to be. Every dish was packed with rich, authentic Sichuan heat, yet perfectly balanced and bursting with flavor. That being said, for those who aren’t as spice-inclined—like my kids—there were still plenty of delicious options that they thoroughly enjoyed.

This was my second visit, and this time, I brought two other families along. Safe to say, Hot Space delivered yet again! Everyone had a fantastic time, and we left full, happy, and already talking about our next visit. If you love great food, stellar service, and a lively atmosphere, Hot Space is a must-try....
