This place sucks. Staff is unfriendly. Often out of items. Not worth the drive. If you come later (like after work) they won’t have your favorite items and if you get there at opening nothing will be ready. I’m here at 7am when they open and most items aren’t available. The item I came for I had to ask for and I’m told it’s going to be 10 minutes. I already have been waiting outside for 10 mins for them to open. The front door is filthy at 7am (hard to see all the fingerprints and filth in the photo) . Parking lot has trash all over. Does anyone clean here? I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like and not 1 staff member said good morning or acknowledged my presence… not even eye contact.. who runs this place? Sad, because it has so much potential and it’s not cheap pastries/food. Lara is the most rude person ever. It is now 7:35am and I’m still waiting for 2 donuts (that’s all I came for). She tells me they aren’t ready until 10am and that they are doing me a “favor”. Are you f’ing kidding me. Doing the customer a “favor” by preparing food when you open at 7am? No bakery operates like this. Food should be out when you open, especially when it’s often out of stock by 5pm. Most Ppl work at 9am. Her attitude and communication was deplorable. She literally told me “it’s not my company”. I can see why there is a “now hiring” notice on the door. Who is hiring these ppl? Again, who is running this place? Imagine going to Shoprite and they only have milk and eggs available when they open and they say “well, some stuff is ready?” No bakery operates like this if they want longevity. The only saving Grace was Marlene (I think that’s how you say her name) came over to me and apologized and seemed sincere. Lara continued to be rude and defensive even at check out. I can tell she is young but she is not pleasant to deal with at all. She needs customer service training/coaching and...
Read moreMy first time experience with Paris Baguette was with the one in Midtown NY and I had always wished there was one in NJ too. And boy did I find one soon in Edison only, after moving to this neighborhood.
This Paris Baguette location is so huge and they keep everything in the open for you to see. The cakes are not made behind the doors and I feel this is a great marketing technique to let the customers know that the fresh cakes or pastries they have come here to buy did not arrive in trucks nor locked in freezers for days. You must watch the pastry chefs making the cakes and you will know there is Art made right in front of you.
They even have cool cake lockers for you to pick up your orders yourselves and they have good seating spaces both indoors and outdoors. Parking is not a challenge as they are covered by rear parking as the plaza where this bakery is located, gets crazily busy on weekends. Not to miss, the staff are super friendly and make great recommendations if you are to get lost in their sea of choices.
Now keeping the best for the last, if you have a sweet tooth, look no further as they have the best cakes and sweet treats in town. The cream is so rich and light and the best part is that they don’t dump the sugar on their creations and they are just adequate, making you crave for more. I can’t wait to try out the other stuff they make here.
Paris Baguette Edison, you just got yourself a...
Read moreI’ve just recently returned to PB after a few years’ hiatus…I had concerns about their cleaning practices after an unsuccessful visit years back and then, the pandemic hit before they had a chance to redeem themselves.
But we’re all better now. Seriously. This place is rocking.
The store has changed tremendously — cake lockers, visible racks, added staff and the scent of hustle and bustle…but wow. All the original classic offerings remain (e.g. strawberry cream cake — wow!) with the addition of even more added goodies and cold sandwich/salad fare.
Cakes are consistently elegant and lightly sweetened…pastries consist of perfect bites in terms of crunchy or chewy texture — whatever your pleasure. This family is addicted to the mochi donuts, the strawberry cream croissants and the blueberry chiffon cake that a manager, Megan, recommended. One word. YUM! Oh wait…three more words. THANK YOU, MEGAN! She expertly helped us to navigate what would be safer for my nut-allergic son and even knew which items would have less sugar so that my diabetic husband could also partake of a bite or two. She made the whole experience.
Word of warning, the lines are insane on the weekends…BUT, they move relatively quickly. If there are no other days to go, then so be it. You may need 15 whole minutes. Once you get your croissant donut, tiramisu, pineapple tart…whatever have you…you’ll know your wait...
