Miso Sushi — Restaurant in Edison

I’m not typically one to leave reviews but this restaurant was seriously excellent.

Food: Prices are quite fair, amazing lunch special value. Takoyaki appetizer was decent. Basic rolls are a standard 6pcs but this place is generous with portion sizes and not stingy about fish. Even the basic rolls are full of fish, avocados and cucumbers were fresh too. My partner and I ordered what we normally eat and ended up with a lot of leftovers to take home! (No complaints about that. 😊) The ikura sushi (1pc salmon roe) orderer a la carte was not fishy and tasted like the ocean, it was delicious.

I have eaten at a lot of different sushi restaurants in the NJ/PA area and Miso Sushi is now a top 10 for me. Quality, quantity and affordable.

Service: Excellent, very kind and quick. The lady working was sweet and happy to answer questions, even giving us extra ginger and eel sauce at our request.

Atmosphere: For lunch special hours, it wasn’t busy at all (Monday lunch 11:30am). More people get takeout than dine-in so we enjoyed a peaceful meal. Service was quick for takeout people too. This place looks very unassuming from the outside, but the inside is cozy and the food speaks for itself. They also play K-pop inside (not too loud) so for me that was a plus 😇

Ordered online: the owner handling phones and mobile orders has no idea what’s happening or how to work any of the systems. She called to let me know that she cannot remove the meat from most my items, fine. Refund then. She let me know that she’s too lazy to call uber to refund it and she isn’t sure where the button is so to call my credit card company instead for the refund. On top of this, she let me know to never stray from what’s on the app and to want the meal “as it comes”, despite no descriptions online for any of it — ultimately blaming me for their lack of accommodations Before hanging up, she laughed at me and said good luck. We were hosting a party and decided to conduct a taste test at Miso. The host was very warm, pleasant and knowledgeable about the Rolls. The chef was also pleasant and fast. The taste test went well. The food was great. We placed a pre-order for two days later. We picked up the items on time and with ease. The host helped us greatly and gave us advice for transport and presentation. Some of our guest were hesitant in eating the rolls until several persons quickly expressed how tasty these rolls, sushi, and shumi were. They loved it!!! We will definitely go back.
