Modern Salon — Local services in Edison

First time customer here. I was browsing thru my phone which salon that fit on my son specific hairstyle. So this modern salon came through it, called 2 hours before his appointment to see if they’ll have spot for him and they said yes. My teenage son showed them a picture on how he would like his hair done and Eric explained to both of us how his hairdresser (Joe) can do for him and they made it happen.. yay!! Me and my son learned a lot from Eric and his crew about how we can get the look he wanted. The price reasonable better price actually from where we live.

How Joe did to my son hair was excellent this afternoon. My son had a big happy smile on his face and I’m of course seeing my son happy made me also happy. My son can’t stop looking to himself in a mirror lol.

Thank you to Eric and his crews, Joe and Rain. We will try to come back for his next haircut since we’re live like one hour in a half away or if we’re back in town to this area again we’ll be stop by to this salon...

Nice updated place I will give a 5 stars to this place. I shown a picture of how I want my hair cut I wanted the guy did not cut short enough. I asked him twice can you cut shorter and he said that is short enough obviously was not enough. The worst experience is the lazy hair washer lady. Literally she just put one shampoo and a quick rinse and that was it. No massage as other customers reviews mentioned. I also tipped very high. The price was very high for a hair cut that in 3 weeks it was very long. I will go back else where that is cheaper and continue to find a place that will listen to what I want and I will tip higher if they do a good job as I asked for. I came to Modern Salon for a bleach and tone root touch-up and a cut; about 8.5 hours total. Jo fixed an uneven bleach job from another salon and delivered exactly what I wanted after I only showed him one reference photo and left the rest up to him, which shows how skilled he is.

Making an appointment was very easy, I just called and got a spot the following week. The person who washed my hair gave me a really nice head massage, which was much appreciated after sitting in the chair so long.

I felt no burning or itchiness during the whole process, and they made a real effort to keep my hair healthy. The color has still not faded much after multiple washes. I've been bleaching my hair for 13 years, and this was one of the better experiences I've had. Look forward to...
