I want to love this place. My dad and I used to visit this resturant before he passed away and it kills me that I can't have the same love for it that I shared with him. The last time we ordered food to-go from this Chili's location, we had to wait for more than an HOUR for our food... this was after the 20 minutes we spent waiting based on the "order ready by time" found on their website after placing the order. Plus there were issues with our order. Now, they did make that right and yes, the manager on duty was very apologetic and nice. So in a moment of weakness, we decided to give them another shot.
Sigh.. we ordered our meals to-go. Having 2 young children makes it near impossible to dine in, especially with how late it already was. My husband went to pick the order up. He had to wait more than 5 minutes for someone to come to the counter and there was some "confusion" when someone finally got there. Not entirely sure what that means but what I do know is, they were out of asparagus. Instead of calling me to inform me that one of the items I ordered and PAID EXTRA for was out of stock, they waited until my husband asked where it was after checking the bag that "had eveything in it". This meant he had to wait for a new side item to be brought out, while the food sat there getting cold. They also failed to include the kid's side of Mexican rice.. that we paid extra for, and as all parents know, can be devastating to a picky eating toddler.
Then... my favoritest part.. the salads...which were supposed to be "appetizers"... were the same size as the kid's side salad... the difference between them was 1 medium red onion ring, 2 tiny onion rings, and about a tablespoon of finely diced tomato on about half a cups worth of spinach and lettuce blend (pictured). I mean that makes sense for a kid's plate, but for an adults? The last time we ordered from Chili's we got a side salad and it was 4 times the size of the salads we got this evening. Honestly, side salads from fast food restaurants are bigger than what we got. Plus, the lack of toppings was icing on the cake for my 1 year old daughter who cried through most of dinner. Plus, we didn't even get the salad dressings for the "side salads". Which, if you order a dressing like the avacado ranch, you will be severely disappointed unless you happen to have some on hand in your pantry... we unfortunately, did not.
So to sum up my rant. Maybe dining in will be a better experience for you.. but unfortunately, ordering to-go seems to be a huge bust. It seems like, odds are, your order is going to be wrong, you will be charged extra for items you do not receive, and you will end up having to reheat your food in your microwave because by the time you are finally able to leave with your food it will be completely cold before you get home. I highly recommend checking your bag against the copy of the receipt you get from placing your order, preferably before you walk out the door. I mean, check everything, and do it twice. I could understand making a mistake, but we paid extra for items we did not receive and coupled with all the other issues this evening, lead to a miserable dining experience for my whole family. Good luck and may the force...
Read moreThe worst experience ever. Horrible service, guess we came on a day where servers didn't come in,
Later the manager admitted she was cooking. all of our food, the manager on duty explained the reason everyone's meal was under cooked. She was hostess, waitress and cook.
At least she comped everyone's meal and eventually made everything right. Though the endless salsa and chips were not really endless since the service was none existant. It took so long, mean while few patron's were in the restaurant. Haven't been back since.
In California Chili's was one of our families favorite reliable go to places. We were there once a week.
For some reason here in Oklahoma it seems restaurants don't follow normal operation standards. I've found this to be true across the board.
Fir example; four years ago they had the worst McDonald's I've ever come across. And they were horrible all the time. The supervisor got sick of my calls... Moreover the Kentucky Fried Chicken was unbelievably bad ...
Currently the Taco Bell in Guthrie, for some reason is currently horrible. Meanwhile the McDonalds has cleaned up their act, as in, turned around 180 degrees.
In addition, the Kentucky Fried Chicken for some reason was off the charts horrible. Last time I was there I tried a brand new product on the menu took it home, it was disgusting. This product was advertised unbiqeuiously...One would think extra care would be given to a newly launched menu item. It was burnt and hard. I never went back, however, I did call, the manager who took my call was cocky and seemed unfazed. Fast forward a year later, They're out of business! YES! Sweet, sweet justice...I was actually joyful they went under, serves them right. In a small town, to be horrible gets...
Read moreWe have consistently gotten mixed service from this location. Saturday night in cocktail was the worst. Our server was the heavyset brunette-if you get her, beware! It took 20 minutes to get soft drinks, another 15 to get queso (premade) and an additional 40 to get our entrees. My burger was undercooked and COLD. Our server did not ask how I wanted it cooked and it came out rare- I like everything well done. I was in the service industry for almost ten years, and let me tell you, this waitress was pathetic. I couldn't even send my burger back because she never checked on us and disappeared in the back. I just ate it and she stopped by about 20 minutes later to ask if we wanted dessert. We said no and asked for a check. She disappeared, talked to four tables, disappeared again. Let me be very clear-SHE TALKED CASUALLY FOR SEVERAL MINUTES TO THE TABLE BEHIND US WHILE WE WAITED FOR OUR CHECK. 18 minutes later we got up and asked the hostess to get a manager because I didn't wanna underpay. When our server saw us waiting on the manager, she miraculously produced our bill (in her apron) and stood awkwardly in front of me as I waited on the manager. The manager was apologetic, but offered no concession or anything beyond a 'sorry' for substandard service/food.
Again, I was in the bar/pub business for a very long time. I always come prepared to tip up to 50% and I still tipped the girl about 13%, but she literally checked on/talked to us 6 times across a two hour timeframe. That is pathetic for the service industry. That is a timeframe we didn't want either-she could have turned us quickly and made more money.
Bottom line: avoid this Chili's...
