I walked in at around 11:50AM to pick up my order. I was greeted by what looked like 1 waitress/bar attendant. Said I was there for a pick up. She said its waiting at the bar area. I replied, I need to pay for it. She shouted back this time with some irritation "its waiting at the bar! you'll pay for it over there!". I gave her a thumbs up trying to not get tilted by them awful manners. If the establishment is understaffed for high volume business hours, the paying customer does not have to take your rudeness as payment for your problems. My total was $14.60. I handed her $14 in cash and like +$1.50-60ish in change. She ran off to get my change. I said I didn't want it. She offered some packets of ketchup and mustard.... nothing else. No napkins in the bag. Other places throw ketchup and mustard anyway. These people have to ask and wont even give you 1 napkin. CHEAP. ATROCIOUSLY INHOSPITABLE AND CHEAP.
I have taken just bout all my visiting family members to flat-tire over the last decade talking up the place as one of my favorite burger joints. I absolutely am not coming back either by myself or with anyone else.
Furthermore, the establishment charges money for their sauce in a container. I cant even begin to understand the audacity behind charging for sauce at a $15 minimum on the menu food joint. Restaurants in even 3rd world countries don't charge you for condiments and neither does fast food places like burger king but they are catching on. This is so un-American. Next they are gonna start charging for using the restroom or asking for a cup for water. Mark my words that is literally where we are headed. I fundamentally do not want to enter a joint where they are so petty they stick your hand out for money when you ask for sauce. If you were asking for maybe 2+ cups of sauce I would understand....
Read moreThe Flatire is one of the best places for a bite in Edmond. A funky, eclectic space that draws in plenty of locals. Families, college kids, hipsters, even older folks can be found here on any given day. The food coming out of the kitchen here is legit. I've had a number of things on the menu which incidentally was changed not too long ago. While known for their burgers (which are excellent) there's plenty on the menu to like. The Monte Cristo was delicious if on the skimpy aide. The ahi tuna tacos had a lot of flavor. The Mac & Cheese burger on pretzel bun is really yummy, if over the top. I also dig the Anaheim chile appetizer. If I have one complaint about the Flatire it's the prices & portions. Prices are fairly middle of the road. A few things are overpriced but most of it is fine. That said, burgers and sandwiches don't come with fries/a side. That'll cost you extra. The real problem is in portions. Everything is small across the board. If you come here starving looking for hearty plates you may be disappointed. Servers here are casual & friendly. Never had a service issue. Make sure you grab a milkshake or cone as they have a soft serve machine in the back. It's probably worth mentioning that they have an extensive offering of beer & booze as well. This is essentially a college bar after all. Try one if the amazing fish bowl cocktails which come in individual or giant sizes for sharing (or not). Weirdly though they close fairly early, even on weekends. Overall we love...
Read moreThis place was pretty solid! I read the good reviews and have been wanting to try it - but it’s pretty out of the way. We finally ventured out there because I was craving a burger (which doesn’t happen often - they’re not my favorite food). You can pick a table when you walk in, and it’s a college bar more or less so it’s got a chill vibe. There were college kids and families in there. The service was very nice but super long wait for everything. I think that’s the one bad thing I have to say. It took 5-10 minutes to get our order taken and then it probably took at least 20 minutes to get our food. I got the juicy Lucy burger and my husband got a classic cheeseburger - they were huge! I got tots and he got fries. They were both crispy and delicious! And the burgers were amazing! They were cooked well, medium rare/medium. Juicy and loaded! We finished off with a shake. I got the s’mores one and my husband got the vanilla bean. He really enjoyed his and mine was awesome! It comes with actual toasted marshmallows, which was SUPER cute and delicious. I would...
