Terrible first experience. Went for breakfast, the first thing I was disappointed with was my $1.95 dixie cup of juice. I know some places serve juice in a smaller cup, but this was pathetic in my opinion. I had to ask for a water to supplement and again was given a dixie cup, while soft drinks seem to come in a large. So I asked for a large water just so the waitress didn't have to refill me 10x, and she said they tell them to use small cups, but would bring me a large.
Then it took 40+ minutes to deliver our breakfast and it was a simple order. During this time my daughter drank all of her milk (another ridiculously small cup) and we didn't see our waitress the entire time, until we received our food.
Finally the food was brought and it was fair to poor quality in my opinion. I asked for another milk for my daughter and was told it would be another $2.00, since there are no refills on milk. Wife asked for salsa and that was another $2.00.
With the second refill of milk for my daughter it was a large glass which made me wonder if they were just running low on large cups earlier. Had she had the large cup to begin with, I wouldn't have had to have another $2.00 refill.
It was $32.00 for breakfast, without the tip. Ridiculous for breakfast of these portions and quality. I don't mind diner food, but expect diner prices.
We made eye contact with tables around us and they were all frustrated.
Terrible first dining experience, Waitress never apologized for the 40 minute delay on on food and the cashier who tendered didn't ask how everything was (which I was ready to share).
Writing this review two days after our experience, and it still bothers me how bad the food and...

A quintessential diner, it seamlessly merges nostalgic comfort with a fresh, innovative approach to traditional diner cuisine.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the distinct ambiance that can only be described as homey, welcoming, and wonderfully warm. The vibe here is truly authentic and captures the heart of what it means to be a community-oriented eatery.
But what sets 'Around The Corner' apart isn't just its charm or the nostalgic yet cozy setting. It is the people - the very heartbeat of this place. A special mention must be made of our server, Jess. Jess truly embodies the spirit of hospitality, bringing a level of care, friendliness, and professionalism that adds to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience. Her attention to detail, jovial attitude, and genuine interest in ensuring a great dining experience make every visit memorable.
The food, of course, matches the high standard set by the ambiance and service. Every dish feels like a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal, and the portions are generous. I've yet to try something I didn't thoroughly enjoy. The meals are always hearty, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
So, if you're looking for that perfect blend of local charm, fantastic food, and exceptional service, look no further than 'Around The Corner.' It’s more than just a diner – it’s a delightful journey into the heart of our community, and a place that truly feels like home.

Read moreIf you want great food, nostalgia, and a great price, come here. The first thing that grabbed me as I walked in the door was the chicken and OU/OSU themed decor. It's everywhere - hardly a square inch of wall space doesn't have some kind of knickknack on it. It may be visual overload for some, but I found it cozy and cute. You can tell this place dates WAY back and it only adds to the nostalgia. The food was nothing short of amazing. It tasted like it was cooked in grandma's kitchen. It was better than Jimmy's Egg and many other chain restaurants I've been to. I ordered my eggs over medium and they were cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns actually had flavor-didn't even need ketchup. The bacon was crisp, the toast wasn't burnt, and my youngest thoroughly enjoyed his French toast. My oldest son, who is in the autism spectrum and very hard to please, even remarked that this is his new breakfast spot. One really cool thing about the place is that the menu's are monthly publications with local news bits, old newspaper articles (including a "Dear Abby" from 1968), as well as a crossword puzzle, word search, and Sudoku game. My family and I had fun trying to figure out the crossword puzzle rather than looking at our phones. The staff was fast and friendly. They kept the drinks coming and made sure we had everything we needed. I've lived in Edmond for almost 20 years and can't believe I never knew about this gem of a restaurant. It is now my #1 breakfast stop. I highly...
