My wife and I called to place an order and my wife asked a few questions as this would be our first time eating there on 07/10. She was placed on hold while talking. She called back and the same thing kept happening, she would be transferred to someone and when she would say "I'm trying to place and order" the person would say okay and as she began to speak she was placed on hold again without notice. The last time calling she was actually asked to be on hold but no one ever came back to the phone. Since we were already on our way up there, my wife went inside to place the order and everyone was pleasant. The girl at the front went to the back and then came back to say I can take your order advising this was her first time taking an order. My wife asked if she could let her know how long it would be and the girl went to the back and came back to advise of the wait time. About 30 to 40 min later when she gets there to pick up the food they say they don't have enough of the food item to accommodate the order. My wife asked did they call to let us know and was told they tried several attempts to call. The phone # they called was mine but I did not see any miss calls or voicemails, so you be the judge of that. As my wife called back to speak to a manager after a few attempts of calling and no one picking up, she was passed to the head chef. The Chef came on the phone line addressing my wife's first and last name which my wife had not provided, the chef was very personal and apologized and advised she would offer a discount and put her name down to pick up the order again at her convenience. Now it is the next day and we decide to go ahead and try placing the order again. Everyone was pleasant on the phone and they were able to accommodate the order. My wife gets home not checking the order as she usually does because we assumed it would have to be right today after yesterday's mess but unfortunately apart of the order was forgotten. So my wife calls a few times the phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail, she is thinking maybe they are not picking up since they have caller ID, seeing how the chef knew her name without her providing it the day before. She asks me to call and I do right after she hangs up and I get through. I called seconds later got someone on the phone, asked for the manager and was passed to Shana. I was telling her about my problems with the restaurant and she advised they would prepare my missing item. As I proceed to reiterate the problems we have had and the fact that it seems a bit funny that when my wife calls she has a hard time getting through but as soon as I call I get through immediately. Shana interrupts me to say she will escalates my call to the chef? I hang up at this point cause it's just not worth anymore trouble and I don't want anyone to spit in my order or something seeing how my frustrations upset Shana quickly. I am not sure why I am having to talk to the chef when there is nothing wrong with the food they have prepared, only missing food. Having been a manager myself before in a customer facing position, my personal goal was to do my best to be understanding and agreeable to what the customer has advised as long as their request and concerns weren't out of pocket. I don't think that would of been hard for Shana to do as no one ever raised their voice or cursed when discussing the issue yesterday and today. I will say the food was good but it was too much work to get and still have a problem with the missing food item. Don't think we will be back. Good luck with you all's to go orders, maybe dining in is better but I...
Read moreOnce known as a cherished culinary sanctuary nestled on NE 63rd, Gabriella's has moved to a new location in Edmond, bringing with it high hopes for its loyal patrons. Unfortunately, our recent experiences at this new venue have been nothing short of disappointing, marking a stark departure from the charm and quality we had grown accustomed to.
In its previous location, Gabriella's was synonymous with a quaint atmosphere, impeccable service, and delectable food. However, at its new Edmond location, these defining attributes seem to have been left behind. The service, which was once an embodiment of warmth and hospitality, has deteriorated drastically. On our last two visits, the waitstaff exhibited an unfriendly demeanor and appeared to lack knowledge about the menu and wine selection — a far cry from the friendly, knowledgeable staff we were accustomed to.
Once a culinary beacon, Gabriella's food quality too has taken a nosedive. The homemade ravioli and tomato sauce remain fantastic, a tantalizing reminder of the restaurant's past glory. However, the rest of the menu has failed to live up to its reputation. The family chicken parmesan arrived burnt, while the chicken fettuccine and salads were drowned in their respective sauces, overshadowing the ingredients' freshness and natural flavors.
The price point, unfortunately, doesn't reflect this decline in quality. A $195 tab before tip is a substantial amount, especially when the dining experience fails to deliver on its promise.
The most startling sight was a "nothing but bun cake" box taking up space in their unused glass display. This seemingly out-of-place item further underscored the sense of disillusionment we felt with the new Gabriella's.
In its heyday, Gabriella's was our top recommendation to friends and family, a must-visit destination for anyone seeking the best Italian fare in Oklahoma. Regrettably, it has now become a place we advise against. It's a heartrending turn of events for a restaurant that has been a beloved part of our community.
Despite our experiences, we believe in the potential for improvement and hope Gabriella's can regain its position as a leading Italian restaurant in Oklahoma. For now, however, we must say, with heavy hearts, that Gabriella's is no longer the best Italian dining experience...
Read moreFirst things first: this is pricey. I was looking at the “best of Kreb’s” and it’s $64 for 2 people …..I’m not sure if they will let you order that for say, 3-4? But that’s spaghetti and meatballs and noodles. Now we just ordered appetizer and a house salad: we ordered the green mussels. They were a little pricey but worth every penny to me bc well, it’s seafood and that seems normal to be expensive. Not gonna lie they were absolutely fantastic , the garlicky soupy stuff they were swimming in was absolutely wonderful. The house salad we got with the only dressing (house Italian) and my gosh. It was amazing , especially with a side of Gorgonzola which gave us that creamy note we were looking for. They brought that garlicky balsamic and olive oil to dip the bread in, but with the mussels they brought some bread out of the pizza oven with a little cheese on it and the bubbly crust that ONLY a pizza oven does correctly. Note: 11 dollar pizza night on one evening if you’re looking for a bargain (can’t remember which day). Server recommended a wine which was by the glass and it was super tasty. He was excellent ! Overall the experience was wonderful and I hear that the lasagna is to die for . I mean, it is 30 bucks but all hand made ingredients including the CHEESE. We will try that next time! I DID notice there were a lot of servers, which to me made the service really GOOD but I wonder as a server if they wished the sections were a little bit bigger bc it seemed like every server had one table . Which since we only got an appetizer I wondered if we’d be his only table. Overall a wonderful experience!
I’m not sure why I’m whining about the best of krebs menu price, and the 30 dollar lasagna , maybe I’ll be hungry enough to get it next time …. I’ve heard it’s worth it but I couldn’t quite get over the sticker price at first glance. Our server also gave us frank opinions and I ALWAYS like that! We will be back ! Maybe on 11 dollar pizza night we will try a lasagna . Oh and my husband got this beer that had “chocolate notes” in it and it was really good if you like something like shiner bock...
