I thought we were just going to grab a meal but it turned into one of the BEST evenings out! To say that I was WOWED is to put it mildly! So it was a busy night but with only 2 in our party we were seated right away. The place was bustling with lots of groups having a fun social time. Our friendly waiter, Sam, took our drink order and forewarned us things might take a little longer than usual because they were short staffed and very popular that night. He is very personable, humble, and attentive and he truly made our dining experience highly enjoyable! He gave us great insights to the culinary options and we really hit the jackpot! I had the Street Bowl which was a delicious play of flavors that perfectly hit the spot. I was impressed with how tender and tasty was the pulled pork; Yum. My husband had the sirloin which was cooked to perfection, full of flavor and melt-in-your-mouth tender! As we enjoyed our second round of drinks and the pleasant banter with Sam, I realized that I was already looking forward to a return visit to IU and that from now on I am going to request to be seated in Sam's section (even if there is a wait) and I have never before been even mildly interested in doing such a thing!! Toward the end of our leisurely visit, I noticed a rather crabby customer who was complaining about some mix-up on her order and being pretty obvious about her displeasure which was written all over her face (poor old girl). We watched Sam handle this very difficult person with incredible grace and humility, doing all he could to make it up to her (but we could tell this was one of those who is probably never happy... poor old girl). He never stopped being friendly, apologetic, and respectful toward her and it never dimmed his sunny disposition. It only confirmed to us what a high class guy he is and what a first rate place this is to have hired him. I cannot wait to go back and try all the other amazing and interesting dishes on that menu and to be served by the best waiter I've ever met. PS I know this is really high praise so I hereby swear I have never met Sam before and I am not related in any way to...
Read moreTHEY CANNOT DO GROUPS. THEY CANNOT DO BABIES. FOOD was fantastic. The restaraunt was very clean. SERVICE, I didnt understand. I went to my hoddaughters 14th birthday lunch with my two year old biological daughter. AKA sister. I knew going into this that it was risky since my.daughter naps at 2 p.m. and i went at 1 p.m. I put my order (water for me and babe and a club sandwich and fries to share) in when they took drinks bc I knew it was going to be rough for my toddler to sit and wait an hour for food; heck, I even took her somewhere to run around before the party so she would not cause a problem or throw a tantrum. Food came out at a decent time. The food was great, perfect. Everything was going well. THE CHECK. The server asked how I would like my check? I said just myself and my toddler....so my water, kids water and my one entree. I asked him to bring it now and I will go ahead and pay. I was thinking he would be right back but he wasn't. Baby started getting fussy so someone took her outside for me so I could wait and pay. 20 MINUTES LATER, there's some lady, (manager?) that came to the table apologizing in a very complaining way, that the whole table (even tho I asked to be in an out bc I am the only person with the baby and thought it was doable bc it was just my water and sandwich that they had to bill me) wasn't getting their tickets right now bc "its really hard to split tickets when there is a group of people".........um don't they do this all day with several customers? I'm SO confused. She didn't even present herself with our checks! The waiter, finally, brought me my check and I gave him my card and he came back right away. He was nice, didn't complain about us being a group. He went off to finish helping other customers. I am starting to sign my slip and the manager lady comes and takes my receipt from me and asks if everything was correct on it???? I didn't ask her to do that. Ok, my baby was crying and I was rocking her and soothing he while I was trying to pay! The manager lady WATCHES ME AS I AM FILLING OUT THE TIP AREA. What the heck? I'm pretty confused as to why that lady...
Read moreNot sure what happened,, but the customer service,, food, and prices have all changed so dramatically, for the worse, since you reopened.
The waitresses don't seem to care about making the dining experience a little better than most, such as asking for a to go re-fill and not bing served it to gaslighting of the customer when asked about particular items that were on the menu before.
There were No specials of the day on New Year s Day, as there has been in the past.
Today, I asked for cheese sauce and the dark headed waitress told me I U has never served cheese dip.
I have been coming to IU for 15 years anD last time I came here, we received it.
When I asked my regular waitress, I was met with the same response.
I know every restaurant has cheese sauce, maybe not for Mexican food, but surely for other things.
Quite a sham you are running when it appears you want to take away the thing that has been free, then sell your white queso for 10.00 a serving.
You ll be closing your doors the next time, not From a fire., but from a lack of customers.
Oh me are so happy you reopened!
NOT!
It is just so difficult to find a restaurant, or any other place of business, that pays so much attention to detail.
Usually, one can find good food or good service, but rarely can they find them together.
Thank you for providing both!
The waiters, waitresses, hosts, and even table busses are extremely helpful, if and when needed.
The drinks are delicious and the games on Saturday being shown is an added plus.
Oh, and the food! Did I mention the food? Lol
Delicious!
Go. You will not be...
