My husband stumbled on Signature Grill while looking online for a restaurant for dinner in the Oklahoma City area during a driving trip to Des Moines, and we ate here last night. And -- oh my. Best meal we've had in years. It's located in the corner of a strip center, but do not let that fool you. Inside, you'll find yourself in a small, cozy, romantic restaurant with crisp white tablecloths, small vases of fresh flowers on each table, and a clean, modern feel to the design, including a glass wall at the far end where you can watch the (amazingly talented) chef and his staff work. (We noticed that almost everyone dressed up to eat here, with most men wearing a sport coat, although there were a few people dressed casually.)
And the food! Before you order, your server will bring you a plate of piping hot bread -- homemade each day in-house. Folks, I've baked bread my whole life and this really impressed me. It takes a lot of time, and they have to bake many loaves daily -- it was so delicious that we ate almost two of the small loaves. The loaves are brushed with olive oil and herbs and are served with butter, and it is fabulous. It would be so much easier for the chef/owner to just buy homemade bread from a local bakery -- this speaks to the chef's dedication to quality and freshness. But don't fill up on bread because you will want to savor every bite of your entree.
It was hard to decide what to order because everything sounded wonderful (and our server said that when folks can't decide, she tells them to close their eyes and just point to anything on the menu because everything is great), but we both ended up ordering the pan roasted chicken with white wine, herbs, garlic and lemon marinade, which was so wonderful I can't even do it justice with words. Crisp, browned skin and two large pieces with the most amazing sauce -- just outstanding. Each entree comes with two sides, and the sides are really a step above the side dishes at most restaurants, and there are many to choose from. We both ordered fresh brussel sprouts with chopped garlic and fresh grated Parmesan. I ordered the bacon and crimini mushroom risotto for my second side and it was the best risotto I've ever eaten. My husband ordered sautéed mushrooms with leeks for his, and he said it was amazing. My only tiny, tiny criticism is that it was all very rich, but it might not have been if I'd ordered different side dishes. Regardless, it was heavenly.
We both ordered salads to start, of which there were six choices -- I ordered the Greek salad and my husband ordered the spinach salad, and they were also very good.
Prices here are a bit on the high side, but not at all unreasonable, especially considering the very high quality. Our bill was $100 for two salads, two chicken entrees, an $11 glass of wine, iced tea and about a 25% tip. The pan roasted chicken entree is the least expensive entree on the menu at $24, which includes two side dishes -- entree prices range from $24 to $36 for the beef tenderloin.
There is an extensive wine list and a nice selection of wines by the glass -- a bit on the expensive side, and also a selection of single malt Scotches and other spirits.
We were lucky to get a reservation the afternoon of, and every table was filled when we left (on a Tuesday). This is not a large restaurant. Make a reservation for sure, a week ahead if you want to eat here on a Friday or Saturday according to the chef/owner's wife, a very friendly lady who does a superb job at the front of the house.
We will eat here every time we make this drive -- both ways! -- and if you're in the Edmond area, do not miss this gem. How we wish it was located where we...

The food is impeccable, complex, well seasoned, and made right in front of you down to the sauce. The atmosphere is thoughtful, romantic, low lit, and intimate. The staff are attentive, kind, and energetic. The prices are upper range, but reasonable for what you receive. We've never left hungry, that's for sure. Cleanliness is great.
Enjoy each course. The duck confit is a favorite, such a unique flavor that I've never had anything like that. The food is as upscale as it gets for Edmond, but still tasty enough a country boy can survive.
This is a perfect romantic date location. My husband and I love this for anniversary dinners. Recently I had a hospital visit and after surgery this was all I wanted to eat. We were not dressed as well as I prefer, but loopy and hunger the kids (my drivers for the day) weren't going to argue with me. I was able to first hand experience the treatment of you're not in fine dining attire. Santiago treated our family like friends, we were welcome with open arms and I was served as if I wasn't in yoga pants and bandages. I felt just as special as the evenings I put on a gown with my life.
I really appreciate when you can enjoy a good meal any time, whether special or daily dress, and receive the exact same treatment. This wowed me... thank you so much!
Reservations ARE needed, they often can get you in on a shorter notice with weekdays. Price per person can range from $50-150, depending on how many courses you want. Steaks run about 40 and plates about 30. I know that seems steep, but it is WELL worth it. This is a perfect place to celebrate life and between the flavors and the staff treatment, it has NEVER hurt me to pay my tab. There are some things you just are happy to buy. This dinner will be one of those things.
There is a beverage menu and although I don't drink, guests near me often compliment the taste of their cocktail.
If I lived in Edmond, we would eat here weekly, at minimum. Do try it. ...
Read moreWe were celebrating our 23rd anniversary. We had high expectations. Too high I guess because the experience was not good from the minute we walked in until we left. The hostess was not at the station. We stood in a cramped space by the door looking for someone to acknowledge us. When she appeared she was talking on the phone. Instead of putting the caller on hold, for the few seconds it would take to seat us she turned her back on us to make reservations for the caller. Another couple came in which made it quite cramped due to the small size of the place. We were literally pushed up against the diners because the tables were jammed together with barely room to walk between them. Finally after several awkward minutes she seated us. The waiter took his time getting to our table. We were not in a hurry. He was just not attentive. We ordered. He failed to bring bread. Could not get his attention. The Caesar was wilted and flavorless. Bread would have been nice. He brought after we had finished the salads. My entree was so salty I could not eat it. I didn't want to wait on something else so I left hungry. My husband's was the same way. Waiter never asked if we wanted another cocktail. He was quite attentive to the couples around us. He even asked the couple next to us if they were celebrating a special occasion. They were not. He did not ask us. My husband had told the hostess it was our anniversary when he made the reservation because she asked him. We are always polite to our waiters and waitresses. We always tip 20% or more. It was hard to tip anything at all. I tipped 10% but regret that. I shouldn't even give this review 1 star. It was that bad. The desserts are not worth mentioning. Tasted like they had been frozen and barely thawed out. This was a miserable, insulting and expensive experience. We do not mind at all paying a lot for good food and service but that is not at all what we received. To make it worse we had driven almost an hour to Edmond from where we live. We will...
