Been coming here for over 20 years through bad and good chef changes. Currently they have an excellent chef, we don't even leave sauce on the plates. This is the best American chinese I have had in washington state. Crunchy fried meat, that you bite into that is flavorful moist and tender. Eggplant was awesome, crunchy outside, fully cooked inside, perfect sauce. Favorite is the orange beef, they use fresh orange peel.
Small hole in the wall that is a treasure. While they may not have full tables they have a constant flow of pick ups. The staff even has the kids I grew up with working with them now. Kind of wow, I remember him drawing in the restaurant. Friendly and attentive, treated so well, the waiter from the night before remembered me asking what the tea brand was. He told, I guess she is the manager, that I wanted to know, so she gave me a bag of the tea saying she does that for many of her customers. She buys the tea in bulk, all natural no perfume added, can even see tiny twigs in it.
They use an american spice rating. Seat your self kind of place, very casual, no uniforms. They are located across from the side of QFC, in a mini office strip that is not a visible location. Never have problems with parking. Flat area, no stairs. While a wheel chair could fit, it's tight and you'd need to give them a heads up by a few mins to move stuff around. Bathrooms are old but very clean.
Yes they do make subsitutions. Prices are average but super good if you compare the divine food you are eating to other places. Just introduced my honey to them, he always overeat there. I don't get left overs T_T Sesame shrimp is like popcorn shrimp in a rice cracker bowl on a bed of popped rice noodles. I plan on trying everything on the menu now that I...
Read morePretty dissatisfied. We tried it after seeing great reviews, and hearing they were awesome. Ordered family style meal. Appetizers were cold and chintzy. Pot sticker was cold and rubbery. BBQ pork cold and bland. Egg roll was cold, outside was crisp, but under outer crisp, it was rubbery, but that was OK as it ws roughly the size of my middle finger. I really think it came from the frozen food section of the QFC across the street. We were blessed with one each of all 3 appetizers witch is just as well because appetizing is not a word I would use. Tea was cold, when I asked to have it heated, the waitress told me she would try, but the tea machine wasn't working right. I would think a microwave, or a pot on a burner could do it.. Egg flour soup was tasty, but, yep, cold wonton soup was nothing exciting cold, wonton was rubbery. Almond chicken was warmer, heavy breading, old tasting chicken, odd tasting sause. Broccoli Beef was alright, Beef was tender, tasty, and hot. So sitting in the dining room, we could watch the guy doing dishes, a partition would be nice. He had his sprayer going the entire time we were there making any conversation impossible. We couldn't hear each other. Waitress did not check back on us, husband went in search of a knife to cut up rubbery food, and was. Finally able to find waitress propped on a counter in the kitchen texting. Looks like our quest for good old fashion americanized Chinese served family...
Read moreWent here for lunch on a Monday. Place was not too busy, we were able to get a seat right away. So this place is quite hidden, it's in the back lot from an entrance to a small business looking building, so if it's your first time trying to look for this spot, you might miss the turn into it. Once you found it, then you'll know, and there's plenty of parking spaces here!
This is your no BS Chinese restaurant. Food is good quality, they come quick and hot, price is very reasonable and portion size is also reasonable.
They have lunch specials that include soup, egg roll, a choice of white or fried rice and one entree.
For dinner they have a per person combo as well that includes the soup and appetizers as well I think. To double check, see the updated menu that I posted on this review. It's the most up to date menu and prices.
We ordered the sizzling rice soup, triple fragrance, and general tso chicken. They were all good, the general tso is the standout on this meal and the fried rice. We'll come back and try some other...
