We came in because the reviews were so high but this is the worst head massage Iāve ever gotten. The massage therapist straight up scrubbed my scalp aggressively for an hour. At first I thought that was just to shampoo but soon it became pretty clear that the whole āmassageā was going to be like that so I asked the massage therapist to be gentler since the scrubbing was making my scalp sensitive. My scalp was starting to itch and burn. I had been to a head spa before in Tokyo and it was nothing like this. I was expecting a head massage, not to be scrubbed like a washboard. When I spoke up politely, she told me that if I didnāt like head massages I shouldnāt have come to get a head massage and sheāll stop scrubbing, which I found quite rude.
When she blow dried my hair, she didnāt comb it or ask where I preferred it to be parted, and just blowdried without any care. I told her she doesnāt need to dry it completely since my husband was waiting and she said āif thatās what you want, then thatās fineā.
They then had the nerve to haggle more tip out of us, claiming we didnāt tip enough. The last I checked, tip is optional and paid in return for good service.
Both my husband and my scalps feel raw. Itās been 20 minutes and they still hurt. Maybe weāre doing it wrong, but we definitely wonāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I went for a couples massage and the most I can give our experience is 1 star. Hereās why: They never asked my husband and I if we have any injuries or issues they should be aware of. It was supposed to be a hot rock and aromatherapy massage. There was no aromatherapy and the rocks were so hot I was concerned about burns on my skin (luckily there are no lasting marks). The only two employees there at the time were the two giving us our massages so when the phone rang (loudly and repeatedly) there was no one there to answer so it kept ringing. Come to find out the noise was especially loud because they kept the door to our room OPEN. Two other people came for their appointments near the end of our massage and one of our masseuses stepped out of the room upon hearing the door bells to tell them to sit down and wait...as if we were in a nail salon. My husband and I received different massages and each had their weird quirks. I.e he kept feeling scratches on his back and has to ask me to check he didnāt have marks. I had my scalp scratched (why??). I was very cold for most of the massage as they kept too much of my body uncovered while working on a totally different area
We were excited about finding an affordable couples massage, but it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe experience was OK - not great, but for the price, it wasn't terrible. I called to inquire about availability for a couple's massage as I'd seen them listed on Groupon for a good price. They told me not to purchase the Groupon and they would honor the rate instead - great. About $130 for an 80-minute couple's massage w/ aromatherapy and hot stones, so we booked as this was a great deal. My masseuse asked me about areas to work on, pressure, etc. while his did not ask him. We received no aromatherapy (they used non-scented oil), and they used hot stones for maybe 5-7 minutes out of 80. They focused mostly on the back (probably 50 out of 80 mins) and went over some areas too much that I had to ask for less pressure; I'm actually still sore 3 days later in some spots. Little work done on legs, bum, feet, arms or hands. The biggest bummer was at the end when it came time to pay. We paid with one card and the gal stood over us as we signed the bill, then questioned our tip amount, asking, "only that much for 2 people???" It really ruined the experience and left us with a bad taste. After still feeling sore a couple days later, I regret being pressured into a larger tip. I'd only go back knowing the need to communicate more and willing to stand my ground when it...
