We moved here after spending lots of time visiting during past several years from Eastside and downtown homes. Edmonds has lots of good choices on the expensive side. We want places where we can enjoy really good food at really good prices. After driving past Kebella’s many times during our move, we decide to try it. After our first visit, we went back 3 times in 5 days.
Kebella's is real. It isn’t manufactured, synthetic, or franchise-copied. Instead, it's the place the owners want it to be. Like your best friend’s family room, it’s comfortable, warm, friendly, and inviting. The menu reflects that analogy to visiting good friends to share a meal -- it's got lots of choices, and the low-carb and veggie menus show that the owners want to welcome you and make you want to come back because you can enjoy the experience regardless of your needs or wants.
The owners are absolutely lovely. They're excited to host, and they want you to enjoy the meal they prepare for you. After our first visit, they remembered our preferences when we came back a few days later. When it's not busy, they'll come out and visit to ensure you got what you wanted the way you wanted it.
The food is above average to really, really great. We sampled many different dishes. Although the gyro sandwich might not be the best in Seattle, we haven't had any reason not to try the same dishes again. We particularly like the pizza. It’s flavorful and made with terrific sauce. The cheese is wonderful in volume, texture, and taste. Our salads all have been fresh-made with quality ingredients. Calzone and sandwiches are top-notch (and big, especially the calzone). The dessert case is worth the visit.
My verdict: even if the particular dish you order might not be the best version of that dish you've ever had, you'll be satisfied with quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and excellent flavor. Overall, the experience and the food makes Kebella's a place worth visiting...
Read moreDecided to try this as a new place for delivery but we were not impressed at all. I really want to have other delivery options (aside from our favorite that starts with a P), but I won't be trying them again. The menu looked so tasty as well, with all kinds of sandwiches, pastas, appetizers, pizzas and desserts.
The pizza was really greasy and soggy when it arrived. Had one of those more fluffy crusts which I'm not a fan of either. Sort of like those crusts you buy and bake at home? The flavor itself was not great either. They didn't really give us enough sour cream to go on top (it was a jalapeno pizza or something).
The tortellini we got was also really soggy/mushy and bland (though the little flavor it had was not good, hard to identify exactly why). Not only that, but there were dry bits in the filling suggesting that the center/filling was still not cooked, despite the overcooking of the pasta itself.
After I was done with a slice of pizza and pasta, I was left with a really bad flavor in my mouth. I kept eating mints afterwards to get the taste out of my mouth. Not sure which one was the culprit but I can't even remember the last time this happened to me.
Finally, got some chocolate cake for dessert. It was pretty meh. Might have tasted better if I didn't have the bad taste in my mouth...
Read moreBeen coming here for consistently flavorful pizza and calzones! My 30 minute drive is worth it. They have the best fresh pesto, even better than mine. Owners are so wonderful, friendly and spirited! Casual almost with a touch of elegance. Vegetarian options are plentiful. We started with a super cheesy garlic bread. The crust was lightly and generously covered in cheese. My hubby's fav is Gaspachi Calzone with it's super garlicky flavor. I did The Greek small pizza which is huge for one person. We finished with the sourcream chocolate cake. And we ordered another pizza togo. We love supporting small businesses especially this one that been around over 20 years! As a fellow restaurant worker, I understand the time it takes to put out quality dishes, so please be patient and understanding if your order isn't absolutely perfect. Be grateful that you are in the US, have food, and that someone served you the...
