We really felt comfortable, loved the food, and the waiter & waitress we're both friendly and helpful, and even with our generous tip, our meal was still well under budget.
A little hard to find, but it was very well worth it! We visited on a sunny Friday evening about 5:30 and it was at half capacity...no waiting. The staff are very friendly, pleasant, and helpful without being bothersome. The atmosphere is open, bright, quaint, comfortable, and inviting. Prices are average but the portions and quality are far above average...a great value. We were amazed at the number of selections on the menu, and many of the dishes were new to us.
Tip: The restaurant is at the north edge of the parking lot, across from the QFC, and parking is right at their front door.
Lastly, we're really appreciated that drinks weren't crazy-priced like all the other restaurants in the area, e.g. $5 for a bottle of imported beer instead of $8-$12 which is what we've been seeing of late.
PS It was a really nice touch to get a couple resl orchids with our dinner, see...
Read moreMy parents live in the Edmonds area and from reading the reviews online, and the multiple locations, I decided to try this place out. The server was very friendly when I picked up my order but when I got home and tried the food, it was beyond disappointment. Perhaps it was just a one off bad day for the kitchen. I ordered about $150 worth of food including the 18% tip for to go. The $30 crab fried rice with extra crab was good however, where was the extra crab that I ordered and paid for? The prawn som tum was not fresh and smelled weird. The prawns were not clean and you can absolutely smell the non-cleaned papaya. The sauce itself was watery. It was just bad and we thew it away. The tom yum was beyond edible. Where was the galangal, lemongrass or the lime leaves for flavor? It had a piece of mashed tomato which was odd as well. The soup tasted like it was just fish sauce with bunch of chillies. It was not edible and we threw it out as well. I never leave a review like this on line but wow - it was just terrible experience. Will not...
Read moreFirst, the food was great. I got the Chicken Pad Thai (like I always do when I’m visiting a Thai place for the first time—if you can’t nail the Pad Thai, you lost me), she got the Vegetarian Red Curry. If I were rating on food alone, this would be a solid 5-stars.
The rest was maybe 3 stars. Maybe 2. By “the rest” I mean the service lacked— none of the staff were terribly engaging, we didn’t get the tea we ordered, we were overcharged for two items, undercharged for one item, they said it was a computer issue. The menu advertises three beers on draft, there was only one. I did order that one beer, however, and it was nice and cold, I could tell the lines were clean. It was very good. It all resembled a place which is new and trying to find its footing, which is exactly what it is—a relatively new place. I very much hope they find their footing.
These new restaurants need the support of people willing to look past minor missteps. We...
