I am an over the road truck driver. I like to visit hobby stores whenever I am able.
I mainly look for historical wargames (GmT Games, Consim Games, etc...GmT owns my life) and miniatures. While I am mostly interested in Historical stuff I also enjoy Age of Sigmar and 40k. The store has a nice selection of 40k, AoS and the re-released specialist games. I also look for older era Gee Dubs miniatures. They are usually in a discount bin, etc. I didn't see anything. That was a bummer.
Their board game selection is all of the popular "flashy" Tom Vasel-esque games. I like a few of them but it's not really my scene. I am happy these games exist as they keep the Industry going and inspire new designers. HA had a copy of "Twilight Struggle". It's an amazing game. It's a bit dry and dull looking compared to The other brightly colored "cool" games. I am pretty sure you will find what you are looking for. They have the "Terraforming Mars" expansion "Hellas and Elysium" in stock. They also have a nice selection of card sleeves. Oh, I also saw lots of "Shadespire" stuff. "Shadespire" is a great game and is well worth trying! Yeah, I buy into the flashy bits too. Nothing is sacred.
The staff was very nice. I had a fun conversation with one of the staff about nerd stuff. I have no interest in comics or those weird dolls with the giant heads. I think the whole side wall was devoted to new releases of popular comics.
This store is pretty cool. ...

PROS The managers are really knowledgeable and good for recommendations, and the store is VERY nice and well organized compared to other shops in the area. They get a lot of shelf stock and have a lot of variety for nerd-type toys, games, and collectibles.
CONS Prices on SOME of the stuff isnt very competitive, and there is no loyalty program for monthly comic issues. Also there can be confusion about cover variants and stock when communicating with some junior staff over the phone. Finally, storage of shelf stock can sometimes leave the magazines damaged, and no discount is offered when this is the case (afaik, although ive never asked for one.)
Overall, if this is the comic shop near you, by all means, build a rapport and start some pulls. If you're in to trading card games this is definitely your go to. If you're looking to pick up a few magazines/books to casually read, this is your place. However, if you're a die hard collector trying to get NM magazines for the purpose of storage and later sale/trade, this place is great in a bind, but can slip up and cause some stress at times when it comes to stock, cover specifics, and condition.
TLDR; the people here are top notch. The selection is unparalleled. Price is hit or miss depending on what you seek. Comics specifically CAN get hairy. I believe my issues have been an exception to the...

Adventures here tend to be on the more nerdy side.
Heroic Adventures, just like Slackers, is a frequent stop for my friends and I when we are visiting friends in Edwardsville. Just like Slackers, the price of things here tends to be on the ‘higher’ side of things. But with higher prices come a lot of cool things…
They have board games, card games, collectible/trading card games, comics, graphic novels, figures, and the list goes on and on. Almost anyone who has the smallest sliver of geekiness in them will find something here they want to buy.
One of my friends always drools over they figure section. I always browse the board games, DBZ stuff and Magic: the Gathering sections. We typically spend 30 minutes looking around before we finally leave and one of us bought something.
It is a great companion store to Slackers.. Whereas Slackers is heavy on games, this place is heavy on...
